David John Selva, 57, of Glendale died Monday, May 23, 2016 at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield with his wife Karen and niece Meaghan by his side. David was born in Pittsfield on November 18, 1958 son of the late Gaetano and Joan E. (Eigner) Selva.
David was a graduate from Monument Mountain Regional High School class of 1976. David served his country in the Air Force as a jet mechanic in California. After the service David stayed in California for another 10 years and was employed at World Color Press as a machine operator.
He worked as an oil delivery man for C. Agar Oil for 22 years and then for John B. Hull Oil Company. David was a vice president of the Great Barrington Fish and Game, and enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing, especially deep-sea fishing.
David is survived by his wife Karen (Kubik) Selva of Glendale; one daughter, Paige Lawson and husband Beau of Kansas City, Mo.; one niece, Meaghan Carlotto and husband Peter of Glendale; one nephew, Dylan Buffoni of Glendale; brother-in-law, Mark Buffoni and partner Barb of Glendale; grandson, Wulfgang Lawson, and many cousins, aunts and close friends.
In addition to his parents David was predeceased by his sister, Laurie Buffoni.
Services for David John Selva who died May 23 will be held on Friday, May 27 at 5 p.m. at the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME officiated by the Rev. Mick Comstock. Family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, May 27 preceding the service. A celebration of David’s life will follow at the conclusion of the service at the Great Barrington Fish and Game on Long Pond Road Great Barrington.
