She graduated from Smith College, where she majored in American Studies and was trained as a classical singer with a minor in music. She then completed her Masters in social work at the University of Connecticut and worked in various local schools and hospitals as a licensed clinical therapist.

Daphne Gabrielle Boudreau Baron passed away on Friday, August 12t at her home in Great Barrington. Born on August 14, 1962 in Boston, Daphne spent nearly the past 30 years in Berkshire County, first as a young wife and mother, then as a student and finally as a social worker and mental health professional.

While bringing up three children, she graduated from Smith College in Northampton, where she majored in American Studies and was trained as a classical singer with a minor in music. She then completed her Masters in social work at the University of Connecticut and worked in various local schools and hospitals as a licensed clinical therapist.

During the past decade, she built and maintained a private therapy practice in her home. Daphne described herself as a “solution-focused therapist” who worked to help her clients uncover their “true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating.” To clients she was a skilled, respected, caring and highly regarded professional who always approached her work with tenacity and a sense of humor; and to family and friends, was a loving and altruistic force to be reckoned with; someone who could drive you crazy while also making you laugh.

She was the daughter of Dorothy and the late Ronald Boudreau of Somerville, Massachusetts. She leaves behind her devoted and faithful husband Daniel Baron of Great Barrington; her mother Dorothy and her brother Daniel Boudreau of Waltham, Mass.; her children Nicholas Greene and Zoe Greene of Great Barrington, Zachary Greene of Santa Rosa, Calif., and their father Paul Greene, also of Great Barrington.

Music and family were the mainstays of Daphne’s personal life. She sang at various events in the area, most recently sharing her beautiful soothing singing voice and personalized songs with Lucca, her first grandchild. Daphne spent her last days in the loving care of her family, and in particular her husband Daniel, who rarely left her side during the past few months. She is greatly loved and deeply mourned by all.
