Dan Alden: Write-in candidate for New Marlborough

Dan Alden launches a write-in campaign for the New Marlborough Board of Selectman.

To the editor:

I am reaching out to you to announce my write-in candidacy for the New Marlborough Board of Selectmen in our town election on Monday May 9th.

As for my background, I was born and raised in the southern Berkshires, attended Mount Everett, graduated from Berkshire School in 1991, and attended the University of Chicago for two years before returning to the Berkshires. Since then, I built a house and established my own real estate brokerage in Mill River, where I have resided for the past 17 years with my wife, Dr. April Burch, who works at Berkshire School as director of the Advanced Math & Science Research Program.

I believe that my biggest assets to the town would be my professional communication skills, willingness to listen and learn, and desire to help build informed consensus from all sides around the issues deemed important to our community.

If elected I promise to serve all the citizens of New Marlborough with honesty, integrity, civility, and all the care our wonderful town deserves. Thank you for your consideration!

Why I will not be voting for Jamie Minacci for Stockbridge Select Board

It has become evident to me that the person I so strongly supported in her first election has acted in many ways contrary to how I had thought she would.
