Colleen Ramsay, 52, of Lenox, worked at Simon’s Rock

Colleen was employed for 27 years at Bard College at Simon’s Rock in Great Barrington and ultimately became manager in the payroll/benefits department.

Colleen Marie Ramsay, 52, passed away unexpectedly Aug. 19, 2018, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.

Born Aug. 11, 1966, in Pittsfield, she was the daughter of the late Bertram and Terrice Gibbons Ramsay. She was a graduate of Mount Greylock Regional High School and Salve Regina University, earning a bachelor’s degree. Colleen was employed for 27 years at Bard College at Simon’s Rock in Great Barrington and ultimately became manager in the payroll/benefits department. She also tutored international students in English at the college for a period of time.

Colleen is survived by her siblings Terrice Driscoll and husband Ken of Yarmouthport; Laurie McConnell and husband Terry of Coconut Grove, Florida; and Rick Ramsay and wife Debra of South Egremont. She also leaves her nieces Carolyn Driscoll of Greenwich, Connecticut, and Cait Ramsay of Providence, Rhode Island; her nephews Patrick Ramsay and wife Silvia of Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, Galen McConnell of North Miami, Florida, Ramsay McConnell of Malden, and Barrett Ramsay of Somerville; her great-nieces Luna and Emma Ramsay of Dhahran, Saudi Arabia; and many great friends throughout the Berkshires. In addition to being predeceased by her parents, she also was predeceased by a nephew, Scott Driscoll.

Colleen will be lovingly remembered for her extreme generosity and giving spirit.  She was beloved by her family and many friends and will be dearly missed.

Funeral services for Colleen Ramsay will be held Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018, at 10 a.m. at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230 conducted by Father William Murphy. There will be a gathering for family and friends in celebration of Colleen’s life immediately following the service at 28 Taconic Lane in South Egremont.
