Coleman Rico Minacci, 85, of Great Barrington

Coleman was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. Coleman worked in the local paper mills and was employed by Peter J. Schweitzer as a boiler technician, in Lee, Mass.

Coleman Rico Minacci, 85, of Christian Hill Road, Great Barrington, died peacefully at home on Thursday, December 3, 2015 following a brief illness.

He was born in Housatonic on May 13, 1930 to Rico H. Minacci and Elizabeth Coleman Minacci. He married Eleanor “Martha” Bubriski on November 26, 1955. She passed away in 1994. He is survived by one brother, Keane “Rico” Minacci of Lee; six children: Donna Boyer (married to Robert), Patricia Blanchard (married to Michael), Elizabeth Gore (married to Bruce), Thomas Minacci, Richard Minacci and Peter Minacci. A son, Michael Minacci, predeceased him in 1988. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; Christopher Gore, Bryan Gore, Aimee Boyer Gasperini, Joel Boyer, Meg Boyer, Patrick Blanchard, Brittany Blanchard and Todd Blanchard as well as two great grandchildren, Kyla Gore and Elwood Gore.

Coleman was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. Coleman worked in the local paper mills and was employed by Peter J. Schweitzer as a boiler technician, in Lee, Mass. He retired in 1985.

Funeral arrangements will be handled by BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME, 33 South St., Great Barrington MA 01230 and services will be private, according to Coleman’s wishes. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in Coleman’s memory may be made to Berkshire Humane Society in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be made through birchesroyfuneralservices.com.

A small, intimate gathering for close family and friends will be held at Birches-Roy Funeral Home on Monday March 9, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. A private burial will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
