Chloa Gustafson, 82, of West Stockbridge

She loved people both young and old, and was ready to volunteer at a moment's notice at clambakes, fishing derbies, Easter egg hunts and Christmas parties.

Chloa L. Gustafson, 82, passed away Aug. 7, 2018, after a short illness.

Born July 14, 1936, she was the daughter of Lawrence and Ruth Seymour McFadden.  Chloa was raised in Ohio and graduated from Huntington High School. She was primarily a homemaker whose strength, courage and love nurtured her children throughout their lives. Chloa was a tireless woman who always had time for anyone in need. She loved people both young and old, and was ready to volunteer at a moment’s notice at clambakes, fishing derbies, Easter egg hunts and Christmas parties. She was a den mother for the Cub Scouts and also worked at Mead Paper as a secretary. Chloa took great pride in her gardens and loved wildlife.

She is survived by her daughter Denise Gustafson, Eric, Lisa and Jenna; and also her sisters Sandra, Phyllis and Joy. She was predeceased by her parents as well as her husband, Donald Gustafson; and Donny, Karlita and Willma of Ohio.

Funeral services for the late Chloa Gustafson will be private. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital through the Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230, which is in charge of arrangements.
