Chabon’s experience benefits Stockbridge Board of SelectmenMore Info
To the editor:
The Stockbridge Democratic Town Committee is open to every registered Democrat in town who wants to be active in national, state and local politics, regardless of race, religion, national origin or sexual preference. We appreciate and support the democratic process in our small town government. Our members serve on town committees and participate in town meetings. To support an informed electorate, all meetings are open to the public. We sponsored a nonpartisan candidates’ forum for all selectboard and planning board candidates, which was moderated by Bob Jones and very well attended. It can be seen on CTSB-TV. Our town committee is critical to grassroots organizing.
Don Chabon is the only Stockbridge Board of Selectman candidate with experience and expertise in town government, having served as selectman for three years and as chairman for two. He brought to the office his prior experience as a two-term member of the town planning board and six years as chairman of the Stockbridge Democratic Town Committee. The committee is proud to endorse Don Chabon for selectman.
Don encourages residents to express their opinions and concerns. He has responded by taking positive actions and pursuing new initiatives such as the PILOT program, the Economic Development Task Force, the Traffic Study and the Cyanobacteria Prevention Working Group. He has worked hard to develop a strong collegial working relationship with the other selectmen in dealing with extremely difficult town issues.
All towns face challenging issues, which is why honesty, openness, experience, expertise, a willingness to negotiate and continuity in the office are important considerations when you cast your vote.
Vote to re-elect Don Chabon to the Stockbridge Board of Selectmen! Vote for the only experienced candidate. Don gets it done!
Vote for the planning board candidates in contested races as well as those candidates for other offices in uncontested races who have been endorsed by the Stockbridge Democratic Town Committee! Every vote counts.
The writer is the chair of the Stockbridge Democratic Town Committee.
