Catherine M. Arment, 95, of Lee

Catherine attended local schools and worked as a clerk at the former Johansson’s Store for many years.

Catherine M. Arment, 95, of Lee passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Berkshire Medical Center.

Born in Lee on September 15, 1925, she was the third of 13 children of the late Antonio and Teresa Maule Capitanio.

She attended local schools and worked as a clerk at the former Johansson’s Store for many years. Catherine was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Lee.

Mrs. Arment married Joseph L. Arment on April 14, 1947 at St. Mary’s Church. He predeceased her on January 13, 1992.

Catherine is survived by her children Karen A. Arment of Lee, and Michael J. Arment and his wife Debra of Henderson, Nevada; two grandsons Steven and Nick Arment; siblings Helena Jurczyk of Pittsfield, Patty LaGrant of Lee, and Rena White of Indiana; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides her husband and parents, Catherine is predeceased by 10 siblings: Theresa Punch, Antoinette Grizey, Margaret McCormick, Mary Bowler, and Mario, Leo, George, Anthony, Alfred, and Joseph Capitanio.

A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Catherine M. Arment will be held Friday, May 28, 2021 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Lee, celebrated by Fr. Brian McGrath. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Catherine’s memory may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of the Roche Funeral Home, 120 Main Street, Lenox, MA 01240.
