While raising her children in New York City, Carol volunteered for the New York public school system, and the American Museum of Natural History. After moving to Richmond in 1976, she and her husband owned and operated Alliance Editions Inc., a silk-screened clothing company based in North Adams Mass. until 1986. Carol later worked as a realtor for Cohen and White (no relation) in Lenox for 15 years until retiring in 2011.

She was a member of Berkshire Botanical Garden, the Lenox Garden Club and the Women’s T Club. A gifted and prolific craft artist, horticulturist and chef, over the course of her lifetime, Carol produced hundreds of works of art. Constantly creating – whether needlepointing, flower arranging or making one of her intricate woven baskets, Carol was happiest when hosting her beloved family, spending time in her gardens, and sharing her life with her husband and their canine companions.

Carol is survived by her husband, Brooks “Carter” White Jr. of West Stockbridge; her son, Thomas Elliott White (Dmitri Belser) of Berkley Calif.; her daughters, Mary Elizabeth “Liza” Turley (Jay Turley) of Fall City, Wash., and Tamara Brooke Marz (Brian Zucker) of Evanston, Ill. In keeping with Carol’s wishes there are no formal services. In thanks for the wonderful care provided by Hospice and the V.N.A. donations in Carol’s memory are suggested to either Hospice Care in the Berkshires (BMC) or Porchlight V.N.A. in care of the BIRCHES ROY FUNERAL HOME, 33 South St., Great Barrington MA 01230.
