Carol Dickens passed from this life on November 30, after a long illness.
Born in Waterbury, Conn. on February 12, 1947, she was the only child of Laurence Dickens and Esther Ericson, though she had several step-siblings, each of her parents having remarried.

Carol was a graduate of Wilby High School in Waterbury and attended Boston University, graduating with a BSN from BU’s School of Nursing. She lived and worked in Boston for some years, later relocating to Western Massachusetts and working as a registered nurse, primarily at BMC.
Health issues forced Carol to retire from her beloved profession prematurely, but also allowed her the opportunity to expand her faith life, becoming a convert to Catholicism. Her faith in God sustained her through trying times, and saw her through the end.
For the past year and a half, Carol was a resident of Mt Greylock Extended Care Facility in Pittsfield. Many thanks are due to those who cared for her there, especially the staff of Unit 2.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at 10 a.m., at St. Mary’s Church in Lee, with Fr. Brian McGrath officiating. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be held in Old Pine Grove Cemetery in Waterbury, Conn.
Mass intentions for the repose of Carol’s soul would be most welcome. Notice of such can be sent to Lisa Thorne at PO Box 1371, Stockbridge, MA 01262.
