Our beloved father and son, Carl F. Lis, 59, of Housatonic died Thursday April 21, 2022 at Fairview Hospital in Great Barrington.

Carl was born in Great Barrington on December 19, 1962 son of Richard C. Lis and Sophia (Pianka) Kuzebski. He was educated in local schools. Carl worked for many years at Rising Paper Mill as a boiler technician, Green River Lumber, Kripalu, and most recently at M.T Cavanaugh as a plumber.
To family and friends he was a man of many talents and few words. In his spare time he enjoyed photography, restoring bicycles, working on vintage trucks and cars and was an avid fan of the Boston Bruins. He was a communicant of Corpus Christi Church Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish.
Carl is survived by his father, Richard C. Lis of Housatonic; his mother, Sophia (Pianka) Kuzebski of South Hadley; one daughter, Danielle Lis of Housatonic; two brothers, Mark Lis and his wife Katrina of Pittsfield and Daniel Lis and his wife Rashmi of Springfiel; Â three aunts, Linda Lis, Pat Jaquins and her husband Jake, and Pam Barquinero and her husband Jim; one niece, Joythi Lis; and cousins Jared and Joshua Jaquins, Tamara Badurski and Cameron Barquinero and many more cousins and dear friends who adored him. Carl will always be remembered as a gentle spirit and for his kindness to family and friends.
Funeral services for Carl F. Lis will be held on Tuesday April 26 at 10 a.m. with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at Corpus Christi Church Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish in Housatonic with the Rev. William P. Murphy, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Saint Bridget’s Cemetery in Housatonic. Family will receive friends on Tuesday April 26 from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME, 33 South St., Great Barrington MA 01230. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in Carl’s memory may be made to either S.B.V.A.S., Animal Dreams or Corpus Christi Church Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish Building Fund in care of the funeral home.
