C. Benjamin Keefner, 55, of Great Barrington

C. Benjamin Keefner, 55, of Great Barrington died Monday, Jan. 23, following a short illness.

Born in Great Barrington on Dec. 18, 1961, the son of Clifford A. Keefner and Luella P. Hart, Ben graduated from Monument Mountain Regional High School in June 1979 and received a bachelor’s of science in electrical engineering technology from Purdue University in August of 1986 and ,in September, was employed at General Electric, now General Dynamics Mission Systems, in Pittsfield. Ben married Teresa M. Upright on Aug. 2, 1985.

Ben is survived by his loving wife, Teresa M. Keefner, son Kurtiss A. Keefner, daughter Nicole B. Keefner, all from Berkshire County; and sister Joan Capitanio of Bristol. Ben is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Ben was vice chairman of the student chapter for the IEEE. Ben enjoyed coaching sports including Little League baseball, Housy Hoops and Golden Knights basketball, and football (soccer to the layperson). Ben also enjoyed watching Arsenal football, Red Sox baseball, and collecting sports and pop culture memorabilia.

Funeral services for Ben Keefner will be held on Saturday, Jan. 28, at 9:30a.m. at the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230 with Pastor Kenneth S. Phesay officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Great Barrington. The family will receive friends on Friday, Jan. 27, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made in Ben’s name to either the Berkshire Humane Society or Great Barrington Little League in care of the funeral home. Mary Louise (Frink) Barnum, 85, of Great Barrington

The funeral service for Mary Lou Barnum will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 1 p.m., at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.

Ted (Edward) Frederick, 51, of Pittsfield

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 30, at 11 a.m., at the Church on the Hill in Lenox, with Rev. Liz Goodman officiating. Calling hours will be held on Friday, Nov. 29, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Roche Funeral Home.

Ronald F. Stewart, 85, of Lenox
