Stockbridge – The Red Lion Inn will continue its “Meet the Author/Artist” series on Saturday, March 26, from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. in its side parlor. The series spotlights local artists and authors whose work populates the Inn’s gift shop.

The featured authors and artists will be Jana Laiz, author of “A Free Woman on God’s Earth,” “Weeping Under This Same Moon,” and others; Jayne Church, author of “Simon Says;” Kevin Larkin, author of “Baseball in the Bay State,” “Gherig,” and “Baseball in the Berkshires;” author/pianist Jessica Roemischer; life coach and speaker Lawrence Carroll; Ruth Bass, columist and author of “Sarah’s Daughter” and “Rose;” Kevin O’Hara, author of “Lucky Irish Lad” and “Last of the Donkey Pilgrims;” and Linda Barbadoro of Serenity Bamboo Flutes.

BHS’ Catwalk to reopen

Great Barrington — On Wednesday, March 30, Berkshire Humane Society (BHS) will reopen its resale boutique, Catwalk, will reopen for its third year of business with a new assortment of stylish women’s clothing and accessories. In addition to specialty items, Catwalk will stock tops, skirts, dresses, pants, and jackets.

New staff appointments at Harrison Design Associates

Great Barrington — Robert E. Harrison, principal architect and founder of Harrison Design Associates, has announced that Mark S. Eichorn and Robert R. Viel, Jr. have joined the firm as architectural designers and project managers.

A resident of North Adams, Eichorn brings more than 20 years of experience in the design and building industry, with expertise in drafting and code compliance, design, and construction administration. Eichorn’s prior experience as an architectural project manager includes eight years with Pamela Sandler AIA in Stockbridge and three years at William Caligari Interiors in Great Barrington. He is a 1992 graduate of Vermont Technical College, where he studied architectural and building engineering technology.

Viel joins Harrison Design with more than 19 years’ experience in architectural and interior design. A resident of Springfield, Viel received his Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1999 from the Wentworth Institute of Technology’s School of Architecture in Boston. For five years he was the sole designer/draftsman at Kohl Construction in Hadley while also managing his own architectural design studio in Springfield. Prior to that he was employed for ten years at Pamela Sandler AIA as senior designer, job captain, and draftsman.

Greylock awards $10,000 to CHP

Great Barrington — Greylock Federal Credit Union has awarded $10,000 to Community Health Programs (CHP). The award will benefit CHP’s Family Services.

Family Services reaches 2,000 individuals each year through programs that include healthy cooking instruction, early literacy, parenting support groups, playgroups and the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program. As a federally qualified health center, CHP has medical practices throughout Berkshire County, as well as South County-based family services and health insurance access counseling. CHP provides medical care to 20,000 Berkshire County residents (about 15 percent of the county’s population).
