Iredale Mineral Cosmetics’ international sales conference

Great Barrington — Iredale Mineral Cosmetics, Ltd. (IMC) held its Global Sales Conference June 12 – 18 at Cranwell Resort & Spa in Lenox. In addition to its domestic sales and education team of 70, IMC welcomed nearly 60 international distribution partners representing more than 50 countries.

The theme of the conference was “Feed, Fortify, Finish” and the agenda included meetings and activities focused on brand experience, marketing, product innovation, and overcoming challenges in the marketplace; product promotions; digital influences; team-building exercises; and a motivational speaker. New business consultants were welcomed and exceptional 2015 sales efforts rewarded during an awards banquet.

“Our visitors love seeing our headquarters in Great Barrington and how much our area influences all that we do,” said President and IMC Founder Jane Iredale, “They come to see us from all over the world ready to experience our culture, our wonderful local food and great shopping, because they all have their favorite stores. It’s important that they go back with happy memories and feel part of our family.”

New marketing and communications director at Jacob’s Pillow

Becket — Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival has announced that Jennifer Young has joined the organization as the director of marketing and communications.

As director of marketing and communications, Young will work closely with Director Pamela Tatge and Managing Director Andrea Sholler to set the Pillow’s strategy for all efforts related to marketing, ticket sales, audience development, patron services, public relations, and interdepartmental and external communication. She will oversee the 16-person marketing department and manage staff in the successful implementation of strategic and financial goals.

In joining the staff at Jacob’s Pillow, Young draws upon her 20 years of experience in marketing in the health and wellness sectors, garnered from her years at the Lewis Family Foundation, as well as her previous positions at Berkshire Health Systems and Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health. In addition to her experience in the health field, Young also has experience in the tourism field from her former position as the vice president of creative marketing at Overseas Adventure Travel in Boston. Young is also a professional actress who has appeared in productions at Shakespeare & Company (she was last seen in the Company’s production of “The Tempest” with Olympia Dukakis). Young holds a B.A. in English from Boston College.

Dr. Patricia Salomon joins CHP board

Great Barrington — Community Health Programs (CHP) has named Monterey resident Dr. Patricia Salomon, a retired pediatrician and commissioned officer in the U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS), to its board of directors.

As a commissioned officer, Salomon worked primarily with the federal Health Resources and Services Agency (HRSA) on issues of access to primary care. As medical director for the Bureau of Primary Health Care, she led the National Health Service Corps in working to bring medical, dental, and nursing staff to underserved communities. She also led efforts to develop programs in the nation’s community-based health centers. While in the USPHS, Salomon developed health care programs for the homeless and worked to bring health care to public housing communities; she also worked to integrate HIV services into primary care.

Last call for Berkshire Trendsetter Award nominations

Pittsfield – 1Berkshire has put out a final call for nominations for its Berkshire Trendsetter Awards. The awards will be distributed at the Celebrate the Berkshires event at Tanglewood in Lenox on Thursday, September 15. Nominations can be made in the categories of Comprehensive Marketing Campaign, Creative Economy Standout, Entrepreneur/Visionary of the Year, Growing/Advancing the Berkshire Economy, Newcomer of the Year, Nonprofit Impact, and Under 40 Change-Maker. Nominations can be made online and are due by Friday, July 1.

Discover Tyler Street Fair calls for vendors

Pittsfield — The Tyler Street Business Group invites artisans, vendors, small businesses and nonprofits to join the fun at the Discover Tyler Street Fair, set to take place on the corner of Tyler Street and Woodlawn Avenue on Thursday, August 25, from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.

The event will be open to all and feature live music and entertainment, a beer tent, children’s activities, arts and crafts, information booths, and opportunities for vendors and member businesses to sell and market their food, products, and services. Under this year’s theme (Celebrating the Future of Arts, Food & Innovation), technology and education partners will share informative demos for children and adults on the job opportunities growing in the Berkshires for robotics, 3D printing, life sciences, environmental sciences, and biotech. A mini farmers’ market will be on site selling fresh, local produce and food from a selection of vendors from the Downtown Pittsfield Farmers Market.
