Guido’s housewarming party to celebrates expansion

Pittsfield — Guido’s Fresh Marketplace will celebrate the expansion of its Pittsfield store with a housewarming party on Saturday, Nov. 12, from noon to 6 p.m.

Complimentary food and drink tastings will be available from local food producers Cricket Creek Farm, Four Fat Fowl, Tierra Farms, and No. Six Depot Roastery as well as samplings from the store’s Old World Specialty Program, holiday offerings from Guido’s kitchen, and wine tastings from Mazzeo’s Meat and Seafood. The party will serve as an official kickoff for the store’s new cheese and provisions department as well as for new partnerships with Iredale Mineral Cosmetics and Chocolate Springs. An Iredale artist will be on hand for mini consultations from 2 to 4 p.m., and Josh Needleman of Chocolate Springs will be sampling in the store from 3 to 6 p.m. Special events to celebrate new offerings will be ongoing throughout the store with tours, raffles, and live music throughout the day.

Performance workshop to be offered for nonprofits

Pittsfield — The Nonprofit Center of the Berkshires will present the two-part workshop “Strengths Training for Nonprofits” on Tuesday, Nov. 15, and Tuesday, Nov. 29, 9:30 to 11 a.m. at 1Berkshire. The course will draw from extensive research in the field of positive psychology to explain key concepts in self management and personal well being as the foundation to creating greater personal resilience.

In two 90-minute sessions, participants will cover a range of material including how to be more influential and deliver messages with greater impact, how to recognize where energy is expended and how to get some of it back, and how physical well being and posture impacts mood and energy. Workshop presenter Ruth Pearce runs A Lever Long Enough, supporting and coaching managers and team members to transform the workplace into a community.

The cost of the series is $40 for Nonprofit Center members and $50 for nonmembers. Registration is required. For more information, call (413) 645-3151.

Salisbury Bank’s annual ‘Fill-the-Basket’ campaign

Lakeville, Conn. — Salisbury Bank has kicked off its ninth annual Fill-the-Basket food drive to help local food pantries feed those in need. Salisbury Bank’s 13 branches will collect nonperishable food items, household supplies and cash donations to be donated directly to local food pantries serving each area. Fill-the-Basket will run through Thursday, Dec. 22, in all branch locations.

CDC receives $10,000 from Berkshire Bank

Great Barrington — The Berkshire Bank Foundation has made a $10,000 donation to the Community Development Corporation of South Berkshire (CDCSB) in support of the nonprofit’s work in providing affordable housing at 100 Bridge Street. The grant will support the construction of 45 new apartments at the site. By utilizing the Massachusetts Community Investment Tax Credits, Berkshire Bank Foundation will receive a 50 percent cash refund ($5,000) from the Commonwealth.
