Fairview Hospital celebrates National Volunteer Week
Great Barrington — During National Volunteer Week last week, volunteers at Fairview Hospital were treated to the annual volunteer celebration at Crissey Farm, organized by Fairview’s volunteer manager Wendy Dottavio. Over lunch, Doreen Hutchinson, Fairview’s vice president for operations and patient care, told the volunteers a story of how humbled she was by their commitment.
Fairview Hospital has close to 50 volunteers, who range in age from 14 to nearly 100. All Fairview volunteers are trained and meet all professional and regulatory guidelines to assure patient safety and satisfaction. In 2019, Fairview volunteers donated over 14,000 hours to the hospital.
Said Dottavio: “Our volunteers’ talent is remarkable, and their loyalty is priceless. Volunteers are a powerful force for good. No matter when the official event is celebrated, Fairview Hospital thanks our volunteers and salutes the volunteers of other organizations in the community who make our world a better place.”

Berkshire Alzheimer’s Partnership to present 10th Caregiver Expo
Pittsfield — To help ease the burdens of an exploding generation of caregivers, the Berkshire Alzheimer’s Partnership, in conjunction with the Alzheimer’s Association, will hold 10th Caregiver Expo Monday, April 22, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Berkshire Hills Country Club.
Caregivers are welcome to meet and talk to professionals about an array of services and solutions to caregiving issues. Representatives from more than 30 organizations such as home health care, adult day health services, assisted living and longterm care organizations will be present, as will geriatric care social workers and specialists, elder law attorneys, and other service providers. Caregivers are invited to enjoy complimentary mini-spa services such as chair massage, aromatherapy and reiki. Light refreshments will be available and many organizations will raffle off door prizes.

Ina Clark joins Jacob’s Pillow as director of development
Becket — Jacob’s Pillow has announced that Ina Clark will be its as director of development beginning Monday, April 29.
As director of development, Clark will work closely with director Pamela Tatge, deputy director A.J. Pietrantone, and the Jacob’s Pillow board of trustees to set comprehensive multi-year development and stewardship strategies in support of the Pillow’s near and long-term goals. Clark will oversee all aspects of the development operation, working to steward and expand individual donor relationships as well as build institutional, government and corporate support.
Clark’s professional experience includes positions in advertising and government with over 20 years in fundraising and marketing leadership at nonprofits. Her tenure includes leading New York City Center’s fundraising and marketing teams during the creation, introduction and first five seasons of the acclaimed Encores! series; launching the National Design Awards and corporate programs at the Smithsonian’s Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum; the rebranding and growth of the Actors Fund including the Dancers’ Resource program; and the creation of Sesame Workshop’s first-ever gala event.
Clark has also led successful fundraising at the Ms. Foundation for Women, the Paley Center for Media, Independent Filmmaker Project and American Ballet Theatre, and most recently served as vice president for development at the David Lynch Foundation. She served on the board of Parsons Dance for more than two decades, undertook fundraising and strategy projects for organizations including the Women’s Media Center and HB Studios, and served for 10 years on the board of Manhattan’s Community Board 5, focusing on landmarks issues and theater venues.

Workshop to focus on long-term sustainability for nonprofits
Great Barrington — The Nonprofit Center of the Berkshires will present the workshop “Creating a Comprehensive Resource Development Plan in Support of Long-Term Sustainability” Wednesday, April 24, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Berkshire Community College South County Center.
The interactive training will provide practical tools, insights, exercises and collective information needed to more proactively sustain existing financial resources as well as identify and secure new resources to support an organization’s critical work and long-term sustainability. Covered topics will include the need for a resource development paradigm shift, changing culture and strategies around resource development, a planning process including an inventory and performance matrix, and discussion of possible financial and nonfinancial resources. As part of a more formal process and plan, participants will collectively share information related to challenges, opportunities and approaches.

Aidan Gilligan assumes commercial lending responsibilities at Salisbury Bank
Lakeville, Conn. — Salisbury Bank has announced that Aidan Gilligan has recently accepted a commercial lender position in its Great Barrington, Massachusetts, office. In this role, he will serve clients in Berkshire County, Massachusetts, and surrounding communities.
Gilligan holds a Bachelor of Science in business from Southern New Hampshire University. He joined Salisbury Bank in February 2018 and earned Salisbury Bank’s Rookie of the Year award for his hard work and “team first” mentality. He has a background in the insurance industry as a vice president and agent for consumer and commercial clients, and he has worked in Salisbury Bank’s commercial credit and commercial lending departments. Gilligan lives in Sheffield, Massachusetts, with his wife and two children.
