Break-ins reported across Berkshire County

A U-Haul-style box truck was involved in several break-ins in both Otis and Tolland. Berkshire County residents are encouraged to be on the lookout and contact Otis Police Sgt. Weidhaas with any information.

Berkshire County — Both Otis and Tolland Police Departments are warning residents to be on the lookout for a U-Haul-style box truck involved in multiple break-ins across the area.

According to the Otis Police Department’s Facebook page, on Tuesday, April 25 at approximately 3:45 p.m., there was a report of a break-in at a house on East Otis Rd. The department reports that a midsize U-Haul box truck pulled into the driveway of the house and forced entry into the home. Multiple electronic items and small items were taken from the house.

Tolland’s Police Department reported that multiple homes were broken into on the same day by the same perpetrator. Both departments are now looking for camera footage of the vehicle that may have been taken by neighbors, along with other information.

Residents with information are asked to contact Otis Police Sgt. Weidhaas at Policesergeant@townofotisma.com.
