In this beloved holiday classic, Jimmy Stewart plays George Bailey, a troubled soul visited by his guardian angel.

Berkshire Theatre Group presents The Wizards of Winter
Pittsfield— On Saturday, December 21st at 7:30 p.m., Berkshire Theatre Group presents The Wizards of Winter, a holiday concert at The Colonial Theatre.
Embark on a magical musical journey as The Wizards of Winter perform their enchanting rock opera in search of the true meaning of the holidays, promising to fill your heart with holiday spirit and joy.
Featuring former members of The Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Def Leppard, Rainbow, Alice Cooper, and Blue Öyster Cult, along with Broadway and theater veterans, this 11-member ensemble delivers a dazzling performance. With soaring vocal harmonies, precision string instrumentation, powerful percussion. and stunning keyboard work, The Wizards of Winter weave a rich, heartwarming story that evokes cherished holiday memories and emotions.

Free Eagles Band holiday concert
Pittsfield— On Sunday, December 15th at 3 p.m., The Eagles Community Band, celebrating its 88th year, will perform a free concert at the First United Methodist Church.
Selections include “The Eighth Candle” by Steve Reisteter, “Fireside Christmas” by Sammy Nestico, “March of the Toys” by Victor Herber, “Wassail” by R. Bashford, “On This Day Earth Shall Ring” by Gustav Holst, “Sleigh Ride” by Leroy Anderson and more.
The free concert is on Sunday, December 15th at 3 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, located at 55 Fenn Street in Pittsfield. There will be a bake sale and gifts available for purchase. More information can be found online.

Annual 1753 House carol sing
Williamstown— On Sunday, December 22nd at 7 p.m., the 1753 House Committee and the Williamstown Historical Museum invite the community to the annual 1753 House Carol Sing, a free, ecumenical event for all ages.
Deborah Burns will lead the a cappella singing beside a roaring blaze in the fireplace. Hot mulled cider, donated by Provisions, and carol books are provided. There is no heat or electricity in the 1753 House, so dress warmly and bring a reading light.
The 1753 House is an historical replica of a regulation European settler’s home first constructed by local volunteers in 1953 in celebration of Williamstown’s Bicentennial. It’s located on Field Park across from the Milne Public Library at 1095 Main Street. More information can be found online.

Wander presents a story slam for kids and a family dance party
Pittsfield— On Sunday, December 22nd from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wander is hosting a Kid’s Holiday Story Slam & Dance Party.
Berkshire Drag Story Hour will open the event followed by a kids story slam. Kids will have the chance to step “on stage” to share their own tales in the “mic.” The event wraps up with a family dance party. Bring the whole family for a day of festive fun, creativity, and community!
The event is on Sunday, December 22nd from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Wander, located at 34 Depot Street in Pittsfield. It is pay-what-you-can. No one turned away for lack of funds. More information can be found online.

Winter online classes with OLLI
Pittsfield— This Winter you can sign up for virtual classes with Osher Online with members of OLLI from around the country.
Osher Online is a program from the Osher National Resource Center (NRC) at Northwestern University. Six classes will be delivered by the Osher NRC via Zoom with participants from all over the country.
Classes include “Color and Symbolism in Art History,” “The Tourists Tour of the Wider Universe,” “The Secret Life of Familiar Birds,” “The World of Musical Satire,” “Science Everyone Needs to Know,” and “The Next Generation’s Legacy of the Holocaust.”
