At the Berkshire Museum's Science Night, families will be able to make giant bubbles, experience a mega baking-soda-and-vinegar volcano, and try preparing their own ice cream in a bag.

WeeMuse: Science Night at Berkshire Museum

PittsfieldBerkshire Museum will present WeeMuse: Science Night on Friday, July 10 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the community.

There are activities planned for children of all ages. Outdoors, families will be able to make giant bubbles, experience a mega baking-soda-and-vinegar volcano, and try preparing their own ice cream in a bag. Indoors, children will be able to experiment with glow-in-the-dark slime, explore the STEM playspace, and test their engineering skills with the Flying Squirrel Egg Drop.

MassBliss Arts and Awareness Festival at Ski Butternut

Great BarringtonMassBliss will host its first Arts and Awareness Experience at Ski Butternut Friday, July 10 to Sunday, July 12. MassBliss 2015 is an all-ages arts and awareness camping festival featuring live performances and immersive workshops in music, theater, yoga, meditation, and fitness. All performers and talent will teach workshops.

The MassBliss 2015 lineup features music from artists Javelin, Debo Band, Brooklyn Raga Massive, Peace Poets, Lady Moon and the Eclipse, the Hogstad Brothers. There will be theater performances from Bread and Puppet Theater, Nettles Artist Collective, the Movement Theater Company, and Humans Collective. Participating yoga, meditation, and fitness teachers include the Shinnyo Center for Meditation and Well-Being, Yogaslackers, Yoga GB, Europa Grace, Mark Gerow, Elizabeth Flint, Heather Seagraves, Beulah Stevens, and KadencePT.

Full weekend passes are $200. Day passes are $90 with a $25 music upsell for evening entertainment. Evening music passes are $45. Tent, car, and family camping included with a full weekend pass. Tickets are available online.

Used Book Sale at the Stockbridge Library

StockbridgeThe Stockbridge Library Association will hold its annual used book sale on the library’s front lawn on Friday, July 10 through Sunday, July 12, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Over 16,000 gently used books, audio books, CDs, and DVDs, in 36 categories for easy browsing. Unbelievably great bargain prices. Admission is FREE ($5 entrance fee during the preview period on Friday, July 10 between 9:00 a.m. and noon.)

Canoe trip on the Housatonic River

LenoxMass Audubon and the Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary present a canoe trip on the Housatonic River on Saturday, July 11, from 8:30 a.m. until noon. Watch for frogs, fish, herons, muskrats, and signs of beavers along the meandering and scenic Housatonic River and learn about the natural history of the waterway that is the heart of the Berkshires.

Registration is required and directions to meeting place will be provided upon registration. Children must be at least 10 years of age, accompanied by an adult, and know how to swim. Bring food, drink, insect repellent, and sunscreen.

Free Community Shred Day at Salisbury Bank

Canaan, Conn. – Salisbury Bank is helping in the fight against identity theft while building community goodwill by sponsoring Free Community Shred Days.

Each person may bring up to four boxes of paper (no binders, please) for shredding by to the Canaan branch of Salisbury Bank on July 11th from 9:00 a.m. to noon.

This service is brought to you by Salisbury Bank, as a way of giving back to the communities they serve. All shredded paper will be recycled.
