Olana Partnership presents Third Thursday at Olana State Historic Site
Hudson, N.Y.— On Thursday, February 20th from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Olana Partnership presents Third Thursday at Olana State Historic Site, a free monthly community day of tours and programs for all ages.
From 9:30 a.m to 10:30 a.m., Shirin Mazdeyasna (MA, ATR-BC, LCAT) will lead ‘Morning Mindfulness’ in the gallery held. Mazdeyasna, an Iranian artist and board certified, registered Licensed Creative Arts Therapist, will lead mindfulness practices to deepen your experience of the two artworks on view. Pre-registration is required for this event. To register, email education@olana.org.
From 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., there will be a free Drop-in Drawing with Pastel workshop at the Wagon House Education Center. Visitors are encouraged to use inspiration from their visit to Olana to create personal works of art. All materials will be provided, and all ages are welcome. From 11 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., there will be free historic landscape and house tours. A Spanish language tour will be given at 2:45 p.m.

First Congregational Church of Lee to host a Valentine’s Day ‘Standout for Love’
Lee— On Friday, February 14th from noon to 1 p.m., members and friends of the First Congregational Church of Lee UCC will be holding a Valentine’s Day “Standout for Love” at Church Park on the corner of Main Street and Park Street in Lee.
Reverend Marisa Brown Ludwig said, “This Valentine’s Day, we want to share our inclusive welcome with our neighbors. At Lee Congregational Church, we celebrate a love for all no matter our ethnic background, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, family structure, marital, economic, or immigration status, age, race, or abilities.”

The standout is on Friday, February 14th from noon to 1 p.m. at Church Park on Park Place in Lee.

Triplex Cinema to present a screening of beloved film ‘Harold and Maude’
Great Barrington— On Thursday, February 20th at 7 p.m., the Triplex Cinema presents a free members screening of Hal Ashby’s 1971 romantic black comedy-drama film “Harold and Maude.”

“Harold and Maude,” starring Bud Cort (Harold) and Ruth Gordon (Maude). tells the story of a young man who is obsessed by death, and turns against the life his wealthy mother has prescribed for him. Harold develops a friendship with Maude, a 79-year-old free spirit whom he meets because they both have a habit of attending funerals. During the course of the film, the two develop a close relationship, and Maude teaches Harold the importance of living life to its fullest. Shot entirely on location in and around San Francisco, “Harold and Maude” brilliantly and originally embodies many of the counterculture themes prevalent in the United States in the early 70’s, becoming one of Hollywood’s best-known and beloved cult classic films.

Clark Art Institute’s Hollywood auteurs film series continues with a screening of ‘Girlfriends’
Williamstown— On Thursday, February 20th at 6 p.m., the Clark Art Institute, in partnership with Images Cinema, presents a screening of “Girlfriends” (1978) as the next installment of their Hollywood auteurs film series.
When her best friend and roommate abruptly moves out of their Manhattan apartment to get married, Susan (Melanie Mayron) finds herself adrift in both life and love. A wonder of American independent cinema by Claudia Weill, “Girlfriends” is a remarkably authentic vision of female relationships that has become a touchstone for makers of an entire subgenre of films and television shows about young women trying to make it in the big city. This 1970s New York time capsule captures the complexities and contradictions of women’s lives and relationships with wry humor and refreshing frankness.

Clark Art Institute to offer family fun for February vacation week
Williamstown— From Monday, February 17th through Friday, February 21st, the Clark Art Institute will offer children and families fun activities and opportunities to see great art during February vacation week.

Every day of the week, children can pick up a free drawing pad and set of colored pencils at the Clark Center admissions desk. If snow is on the ground, dress for the weather, and take a trek across our campus on a pair of Clark snowshoes, available for visitor use all winter long. On February 18th and 20th from 10 a.m. to noon, in connection with the vibrant “Wall Power! Modern French Tapestry from the Mobilier national, Paris” exhibition, families are welcome to participate in a drop-in weaving session. After making a unique woven artwork to take home, visitors are welcome to join in an all-ages tour exploring the materials, processes, and histories of French tapestries.
