Celebrate indigenous creativity at Third Thursday, free monthly community day at Olana State Historic Site

Hudson, N.Y.— On Thursday, November 20th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., celebrate indigenous creativity at Third Thursday, a free monthly community day at Olana State Historic Site.

From 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., stop by the Wagon House Education Center for a chance to celebrate Indigenous History Month and learn more about the history, culture, and craft of native peoples throughout the world. Explore art activities focused on indigenous creative practices like bead-making and weaving.

‘The Gift of the Great Buffalo’ by Carole Lindstrom.

At 3:30 p.m., join bestselling author Carole Lindstrom at the Frederic Church Center for Art & Landscape for a live reading of her children’s book “The Gift of the Great Buffalo”. This beautiful book tells the story of Rose, a young Métis-Ojibwe girl who has traveled far with her family for the biannual buffalo hunt made up of hundreds of other Métis families. Carole is Anishinaabe/Metis and an enrolled member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Ojibwe and is honored to write books highlighting her people’s strength and resilience.

The event is on Thursday, November 20th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Olana State Historic Site, located at 5720 NY-9G in Hudson, N.Y.  All Third Thursday offerings are free and open to the public. Blue Aster Bakery will be on site offering baked goods for sale from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. More information can be found online.

Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center presents ‘Pilobolust,’ a daringly disarming cabaret by Pilobolus, at the Indigo Room

Great Barrington— On Friday, November 21st from 8:30 p.m. to 9:45 p.m., the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center presents Pilobolust, a daringly disarming cabaret by Pilobolus, at the Indigo Room.

Rebellious dance theater company Pilobolus turns up the heat with tantalizing talent, bawdy bewitchment, and scintillating scenarios in their full-bodied, censor-unfriendly “Pilobolust.”

The show is on Friday, November 21st from 8:30 p.m. to 9:45 p.m., at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center’s Indigo Room, located at 20 Castle Street in Great Barrington. Admission is for ages 21+. Tickets and more information can be found online.

Crandell Theatre presents a screening of ‘Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere’ followed by a Q&A and book signing with author Warren Zanes

Chatham, N.Y.— On Saturday, November 15th at 7 p.m., the Crandell Theatre, in partnership with the Chatham Bookstore and the Chatham Public Library, presents a screening of “Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere” followed by a Q&A and book signing with musician and rock-and-roll scholar Warren Zanes, author of the acclaimed book on which the new film is based.

Known as the guitarist for the Del Fuegos as well as a solo artist, Zanes is currently a professor at New York University (NYU), where he teaches songwriting. He has also held positions at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and taught at other universities, including Case Western Reserve University and the School of Visual Arts.

The event is on Saturday, November 15th at 7 p.m. at the Crandell Theatre, located at 48 Main Street in Chatham. Tickets and more information can be found online.

Berkshire Community College presents Artificial Intelligence for All, the first session in their new State of Work Summit Signature Series

Pittsfield— On Wednesday, November 19th from 9 a.m. to noon, Berkshire Community College presents Artificial Intelligence for All, the first session in their new State of Work Summit Signature Series.

Women of Spirit in the Berkshires to host an afternoon of exploration, reflection, and connection

Lenox— On Sunday, November 16th from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., Women of Spirit in the Berkshires will host an afternoon of exploration, reflection, and connection. 

Women of Spirit in the Berkshires is a non-denominational circle of women that seeks to create an oasis of care and nourishment through enlivening conversation and inspirational programming. The bi-monthly gatherings are a time of warm connection and soulful discussion. The theme will be “Gratitude,” and the format will be a facilitated conversation with Q&A and exercises.
