Shakespeare & Company presents “Cry Havoc”

Lenox — Shakespeare & Company presents “Cry Havoc,” Shake & Co’s training alumnus Stephan Wolfert’s one-person play that unites veterans and civilians and Shakespeare’s time with today’s. Written by Wolfert and directed by Eric Tucker, the piece reveals how Shakespeare’s audiences wrestled with the same hopes and fears that occupy our modern lives. This special engagement plays in the Tina Packer Playhouse on Friday, August 28 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, August 29 at 2 p.m.

After serving six years in the U.S. Army and battling post traumatic stress disorder, everything changed for Wolfert when he saw a production of William Shakespeare’s “Richard III.” Twenty years later, using Shakespeare’s timeless words and a few of his own, Wolfert leads audiences on an interactive journey to meet Shakespeare’s veterans. Following each performance, audiences will be a part of an open discussion with Stephan Wolfert.

Tickets and more information are available from the Berkshire Edge calendar and by calling the Shakespeare & Company box office at (413) 637-3353. A 25 percent active military and veteran discount is available.
