Italian songwriter Peppe Voltarelli on tour in the United States presents his brand new album ‘Lupionòpolis’ at Studio 9
North Adams— On Saturday, January 25th at 7 p.m., Italian songwriter Peppe Voltarelli on tour in the United States presents his brand new album ‘Lupionòpolis’ at Studio 9.
After recording it in New York City, Peppe Voltarelli returns to the United States to present his brand new album “La grande corsa verso Lupionòpolis” (“The great race to Lupionòpolis”). With this latest work, the singer-songwriter has already performed 130 concerts in Italy and abroad (Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Spain, Switzerland,) as well as winning the Loano Prize, the most prestigious award for folk music in Italy.
Peppe Voltarelli is an Italian singer-songwriter, actor, and writer. He has been active since 1990 as leader and voice of Il parto delle nuvole pesanti, a cult new folk band. As a solo artist, he has published seven studio albums, four soundtracks, and two concerts. He won the Tenco Prize three times, with “Ultima notte a Malá Strana” in 2010 as best album in dialect, with “Voltarelli canta Profazio” in 2016, and with “Planetario” in 2021, both as best performer album. He has played in 24 countries around the world and his records have been released in Europe, Argentina, Canada, and the United States.
Voltarelli will be accompanied by Luca Ciarla, a violinist and composer. Ciarla has performed in jazz, classical, and world music festivals and concert series in 70 countries around the world and has an unmistakable style acclaimed by international critics.

Multicultural BRIDGE to hold a Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service and Resistance
Great Barrington— On Monday January 20th, Multicultural BRIDGE, in collaboration with Macedonia Church, will host a Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service and Resistance.
The public is invited to participate in a day of action honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. At 9 a.m., there is an opening service at Macedonia Church, located at 9 Rosseter Street in Great Barrington followed by morning projects, including repairs and deep cleaning at the church and transitional house moving, library organization, card making, saw shop setup, and mutual aid distribution prep at BRIDGE, located at 965 Main Street in Great Barrington.

There is a free bagged lunch provided by Momma Los BBQ, followed by afternoon projects, including food distribution, library cataloging, seed library cataloging, and card delivery. From 2 p.m. to 5 p.m, the swap shop is open, and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., there is a Black feminist book club chat. More information can be found online.

Pittsfield— On Saturday, January 25th from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., Wander presents a tea workshop and book signing with ‘The Revolution Will Be Well Fed’ author Corrie Locke-Hardi.
“The Revolution Will Be Well Fed” features gluten-free recipes for snacking on while community organizing, as well as essays and history exploring the connections between food, community, and social movements.

Berkshire County Historical Society presents a genealogy workshop with Lisa Swigert
Pittsfield— From January 25th through March 1st, Berkshire County Historical Society presents a six-session hybrid genealogy workshop with Lisa Swigert.
Lisa Swigert has over forty years of experience in genealogical research and has been an instructor for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) for four years. She will cover topics from getting started and organizing your research to finding the resources you need to answer your research questions. The workshop is appropriate for the beginning genealogist as well as those getting back into their family history research.

This workshop is part of Berkshires250, On The Road to Revolution program. Leading up to the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, communities throughout the nation are looking back at the people and events that led to the Revolutionary War and considering what American democracy means to all people today and in the future. In Berkshire County, a growing number of organizations have come together to commemorate the unique role our region played during this historic period.
The six-session workshop begins on Saturday, January 25th from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Berkshire Athenaeum, located at 1 Wendell Avenue in Pittsfield, and continues via Zoom on five consecutive Saturdays. Registration and more information can be found online.

AmeriCorps learning event at the Lee Library
Lee— On Saturday, January 25th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Lee Greener Gateway Committee presents “Learning from Each Other,” a multi-generational round-table discussion with young adults from Americorps at the Lee Library.
Americorps volunteers are gaining work experience in environmental stewardship by serving in Berkshire County with the non-profit organization. Come join a lively discussion and wrestle with our changing environment and how best to care for the earth.
