Choral group Counterpoint to perform for free at the Bennington Museum
BENNINGTON, Vt. — This Saturday, July 16 at 2pm, Bennington Museum will host Counterpoint, a choral group celebrating the landscapes of New England with pianist Alison Cerutti. This concert is part of Bennington Museum’s Music at the Museum series, The Woods and the Waters.

The program includes the Prelude to the operetta Paul Bunyan, by Benjamin Britten; a cantata by Amy Beach; and a setting by Joan Szymko of a Hopi text; along with the premiere of a new work by Vt./N.H. composer Travis Ramsey setting lines by Vt. poet Jim Schley; and the premiere of a moving musical setting of passages from Hermann Hesse’s novel Siddhartha by San Francisco composer Jude J. Navari.
Founded by legendary choral director and arranger Robert De Cormier in 2000, and based in Montpelier, Vt., Counterpoint is dedicated to performing choral chamber music and engaging with student musicians in Vt. and beyond. Counterpoint has recorded seven CDs with Albany Records and has released four further CDs independently.

Indie Rock Singer and Guitarist Micah P. Hinson Concert at The Foundry
WEST STOCKBRIDGE, Mass. — On Friday, July 15 at 7:30 p.m. Micah P. Hinson is performing at The Foundry. Descended in part from the Native American Chickasaw tribe, Micah P. Hinson’s gospel-influenced, alt-country music is best described as “Folk Noir.”
Micah P. Hinson and the Gospel of Progress, his first real album, was produced in 2004 by the Earlies, Micah’s friends, collaborators and sometimes tour buddies (where they play as his backing band). In 2005, his earlier 4-track recordings were produced and released properly as an album under the title The Baby & the Satellite. Micah has toured with and opened for artists such as Will Oldham, Iron & Wine, David Gray and Calexico. Micah P. Hinson and the Musicians of the Apocalypse’s most recent album ‘When I Shoot At You With Arrows, I Will Shoot To Destroy You’ was recorded in 24 hours somewhere in East Texas.

Shakespeare & Company presents A Walk in the Woods
LENOX, Mass. — Shakespeare & Company announces the cast of A Walk in the Woods by Lee Blessing, to be shown at the outdoor Roman Garden Theatre in Lenox July 15 through September 4. Directed by James Warwick, A Walk in the Woods depicts a developing relationship between two arms limitation negotiators, one Russian and one American over the course of a year at the height of the Cold War.
Allyn Burrows is to play John Honeyman, and Jonathan Epstein is to play Andrey Botvinnik.
Sponsored by Dr. Gerald and Roberta Friedman, this production will include 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. performances, with tickets ranging in price from $22 to $62. Preview performances on July 15 and 16 are $10 less.

Pop-up Jacob’s Pillow Performances throughout Berkshire County this July
BECKET, Mass. — Jacob’s Pillow hosts four pop-up performances in Becket, Great Barrington, North Adams, and Pittsfield July 15-17 and 21. The performance on July 15 is at 5:30 p.m. at North Adams River Grover Park at the corner of River and Houghton streets.
Versa-Style Dance Company will perform July 15-17 in North Adams, Becket, and Great Barrington, and Mambo Royalty will perform as part of Pittsfield’s Third Thursdays series on July 21. Opening performances will be by Berkshire Dance Theatre, BKSE Dance Community Group, dysFUNKcrew, and The Funkbox Studio.
All performances are offered at no cost to the public and no RSVP is required to watch these performances. Programming for these events is subject to change. Donations are welcome and will support Jacob’s Pillow’s mission of dance. Clark Art Institute Presents Weekly Sand-Casting Program
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Clark Art Institute is offering sand-casting classes on Thursdays in July and August from 1 to 4 p.m.. The weekly classes will take place on the Clark Center’s Fernandez Terrace. Classes are on July 7, 14, 21, and 28; August 4, 11, 18, 25.
Visitors are invited to drop-in and learn about sand-casting, a traditional method for making sculpture that Auguste Rodin and his team used for some of the works on view in Rodin in the United States: Confronting the Modern, the Clark Center’s current special exhibition. Using sand and plaster, you can create your very own 3-D work of art to take home.

Wet Hot American Summer Showing by the Boondocks Film Society
NEW MARLBOROUGH, Mass. — On July 14 attend a showing of Wet Hot American Summer presented by the Boondocks Film Society. The event is at Gedney Farm, 34 Hartsville-New Marlborough Rd. A semi-immersive pre-film happy hour with film inspired food and crafts will begin at 7:30 p.m., with music by synth pop artist Vemilo. The film will start at 8:45 p.m..
Wet Hot American Summer (2001) is set in the early 1980s at a New England summer camp. Notable actors Bradley Cooper, Amy Poehler, and Paul Rudd, as well as David Hyde Pierce and Janeane Grafalo, star in the hit film.
