Bits & Bytes: Maccabeats in Lenox; Immunization information at Mason Library; Alex Zenger at Emporium

The information program, sponsored by Fairview Hospital at the Mason Library in Great Barrington, is designed to give attendees the most up-to-date clinical information on the immunizations that are required for children to attend school.

The Jewish Federation of the Berkshires celebrates 75 years

Lenox – On Sunday, August 2, the Jewish Federation of the Berkshires will present the Maccabeats, whose tuneful a cappella harmonies and inventive compositions have made them one of the most popular live acts in Jewish entertainment. The performance will begin at 7 p.m. and will take place at the Duffin Theater on the campus of Lenox Memorial High School. The concert celebrates the Jewish Federation of the Berkshires’ 75th anniversary, with proceeds to benefit the Jewish Agency for Israel’s Fund for Victims of Terror.

Tickets are priced at $25, with $20 tickets available for young adults under the age of 30. Children under 10 will be admitted free of charge. Those wishing to further support the Federation on its 75th anniversary can purchase a $75 “mensch ticket.” All tickets will be held at the door. Free public program about immunization

Great BarringtonFairview Hospital will sponsor a free health education program, Immunization: Keeping Your Child Safe on Thursday, August 6 at 5 p.m. at the Mason Library. The panel will be led by Geraldine McQuoid, MA, MSRN, who serves as the Director of Infection Control at Fairview Hospital. Speakers will include Dr. Deborah Buccino, a pediatrician at MACONY Pediatrics in Great Barrington; Dr. Marc Hochler, an obstetrician/gynecologist who practices with CHP Barrington OB/GYN; and Dr. Susan Thompson, a family practitioner at Barrington Family Medicine. The speakers are all members of the Fairview Hospital Medical Staff.

The program is designed to give attendees the most up-to-date clinical information on the immunizations that are required for children to attend school. The speakers will be followed by an opportunity for questions and answers. There is no charge to attend the program and reservations are not required. Artist Alex Zenger exhibits at the Emporium

Great Barrington – Le Petit Musée at the Emporium will present the work of Alex Zenger during the month of August. Mixed media artist Alex Zenger was born in Texas and studied classical drawing in painting in Munich and Berlin in Germany. Time, pressure, change, and fragility are all recurring themes in her work.
