Bits & Bytes: Easy Ridin’ Papas at Dewey Hall; High Holidays with Rimon; ‘The Berkshire Collection’ at St. Francis Gallery; Community Day at Camphill Ghent

St. Francis Gallery in South Lee presents "The Berkshire Collection," an intensive look at the combined and varied works of a wide range of Berkshire artists.

Dewey Hall to present the Easy Ridin’ Papas & a farm-to-table dinner

Sheffield — This year’s Sheffield Fair, part of the annual Sheffield in Celebration, will conclude with a concert by the the Easy Ridin’ Papas at Dewey Hall on Saturday, September 12 at 7:30 p.m. The ticket price is $10. Attendees at the fair and the public are also invited to a farm-to-table dinner at 6:30 p.m. at Dewey Hall. The dinner charge is also $10, and will feature an array of food from local farms including Sky View Farm, Gould Farm, and others. Big Elm Beer, wine, and soft drinks will also be available. Dinner reservations are encouraged not required. Email info@deweyhall.com with the number of meals you’d like to reserve. Local favorites the Easy Ridin’ Papas play early 20th-century country blues, western swing, and jug band music.

Rimon offers High Holiday services at the Guthrie Center

Great Barrington — Rimon Resource Center for Jewish Spirituality is pleased to offer contemplative, musical, accessible, and inspirational High Holiday services led by Rabbi Kaya Stern-Kaufman. All services will be held at the Guthrie Center.

Erev Rosh Hashanah will be observed on Sunday, September 13, 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Rosh Hashanah morning services will take place on Monday, September 14, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. followed by a community vegetarian potluck luncheon. Kol Nidrei will take place on Tuesday, September 22 from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. and Yom Kippur day services (including yizkor, or memorial prayers) will be held on Wednesday, September 23 from 10 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. After a break, an afternoon meditation service centered on the book of Jonah will take place from 5 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. followed by Neilah, the concluding service, ending at 7:30 p.m. with a community vegetarian potluck Break-Fast.

South Lee — St. Francis Gallery presents “The Berkshire Collection,” an intensive look at the combined and varied works of a wide range of Berkshire artists and features the work of Peggy Braun, Marge Bride, Linda Cimini-Baker, Abby DuBow, Kim Engle, Michael Fabrizio, Eugene Francoeur, Jean Germain, Meryl Greenfield, Brucie Jacobs, Lorraine Klagsbrun, Judith Koppel, Bruce MacDonald, Dean Nimmer, Bob Plant, Harriet Pollack, Peggy Reeves, Robert Rosegarten, Jim Singelis, H. David Stein, Paula Stern, and Scott Taylor.

Camphill Ghent invites community to free celebration

Chatham, N.Y. — A free Community Day featuring food, entertainment, games, and activities is planned for September 13 from noon to 4 p.m. at Camphill Ghent. The event will take place rain or shine and is geared for all ages.

Eclectic, old-time acoustic music in the folk tradition by the Kitchen Kaylie Band, entertainment by Roger the Jester, games, a photo booth, and face painting will be featured. Columbia County Dairy Princess Emily Ooms and her ambassadors will be on hand to scoop ice cream and picnic fare will be served. Tours of both independent living residences and the assisted living facility at Camphill Ghent will be running throughout the afternoon.

Camphill Ghent is a not-for-profit organization. Its mission is to care for and celebrate the special strengths and needs of individuals in their elder years. For more information call (518) 392-2760.
