The Guild of Berkshire Artists presents ‘Natural Elements’ featuring Karen Carmean, Barbara Patton, and Carolyn Abrams at the Art on Main Gallery

West Stockbridge— From October 5th to October 16th, the Guild of Berkshire Artists presents “Natural Elements” featuring Karen Carmean, Barbara Patton, and Carolyn Abrams at the Art on Main Gallery.

A Plein air painter, Karen Carmean looks closely, uses a limited oil palette, and explores colors, textures and movement creating art outdoors. She abstracts from nature and the world around her, playing with different ways of seeing.

Barbara’s work is fired quickly with a rush of flame, smoke, and excitement. The fiery chaos of smoke-firing, using natural and chemical materials combined with elements of form and surface, create both fragile yet hardened objects from the earth. Several finishing methods are used combining both eastern and western Raku techniques, creating intense and various surfaces.

Carolyn M Abrams’ work is atmospheric and inspirational. Connecting with her creative spirit and the world around her, most especially Mother Nature in all her beauty and her challenges. Carolyn’s work is about creating that connection. Using mediums such as cold wax and oil (an age-old process), she works layering, adding and subtracting, and mark making on paper and wood panels.

The show runs October 5th to October 16th at Art on Main Gallery on Main Street in West Stockbridge. There is an opening reception on Saturday, October 7th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. More information can be found online.
