The Foundry presents Swedish Folk’appella vocal group Kongero
West Stockbridge— On Wednesday, December 17th at 7:30 p.m., The Foundry presents Swedish Folk’appella vocal group Kongero.
Lotta Andersson, Emma Björling, Sofia Hultqvist Kott, and Anna Wikénius formed Kongero in 2005 after meeting at a Nordic folk music conference. By chance they started singing together and found that their voices blended perfectly. Since then, they have performed at most of the major folk and a cappella music festivals, and they have toured Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
Kongero tells tales of life with moving love songs, dramatic medieval ballads, witty ditties, and spirited dances. Their music is characterized by tight harmonies, inciting rhythms and the clarity of their beautiful voices. With confidence, technical skill, irresistible playfulness, and brilliant arrangements, they create a unique sound that brings traditional music from the past into the present.
The concert is on Wednesday, December 17th at 7:30 p.m. at The Foundry, located at 2 Harris Street in Pittsfield. Tickets and more information can be found online.

Friends of the Lenox Meeting House Committee presents ‘Community Caroling’ at Church on the Hill
Lenox— On Sunday, December 14th from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., the Friends of the Lenox Meeting House Committee presents “Community Caroling” at Church on the Hill.

When Lenox was incorporated, one of the rules was that you had to have both a church and a meeting house, and the iconic Church on the Hill served as both. At some point, the Meeting House concept went away and now the building is primarily used on Sundays and for special occasions. The Friends of the Lenox Meeting House Committee would like to restore it to its original dual purpose and offer it to the community for events such as concerts, plays, book clubs, showers, family gatherings, and more. “Community Caroling” is the first of many such events.
The event is on Sunday, December 14th from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Church on the Hill, located at 169 Main Street in Lenox. More information can be found online.
