Club Helsinki Hudson to present Dust Bowl Faeries and Luis Mojica

Hudson, N.Y. — Dust Bowl Faeries and Luis Mojica will bring their alternative, ethereal sounds to Club Helsinki Hudson on Sunday, Nov. 13, at 8 p.m.
Founded by artist/musician Ryder Cooley in 2013, Dust Bowl Faeries is a gothicfolk ensemble with roots in Gypsy, klezmer, and vaudeville music combined with such instruments as accordion, singing saw, ukulele, lapsteel and electric guitars, and percussion. The group released its Seth Rogovoy-produced eponymous debut album earlier this year.
Mojica uses the piano to weave words, chants, and sounds through a loop pedal combining Baroque-style compositions with beatbox and pop percussion. After spending four years in the mountains, Mojica has emerged with his debut album “Wholesome” featuring Melora Creager of Rasputina on cello and Brian Viglione of the Dresden Dolls and Violent Femmes on drums. Mojica also lent his keyboards and vocals to Dust Bowl Faeries’ first album.
