There will be a staged reading of “Incognito Witch The Musical,” a new musical play based on the paintings and short films by artist Mollie Kellogg.

Pittsfield— On Saturday, October 26th at 2 p.m., there will be a staged reading of “Incognito Witch The Musical,” a new musical play based on the paintings and short films by artist Mollie Kellogg.

“Incognito Witch The Musical” is a quirky and compelling dramedy about love and hidden magick. Played by Kellogg, “G,” the Incognito Witch’s journey is inspired by Kellogg’s own experiences. It is a beautiful story that whimsically addresses some of life’s tough challenges while empowering and entertaining at the same time.

Local artists and performers round out the cast, including Stefanie Weber, Shany Porras, Kristina Cardot, Mollie Kellogg, Monica Bliss, Monika Pizzichemi, Diane Firtell, Melissa Myers, Mark Hohlstein, Harryet Puritzman Candee, and Steve Mole. The band features Matt Deres on guitar, Jana Pfeiffer on banjo, and Mike Pfeiffer on bass. 

The two-act staged reading is blocked and costumed with actors holding scripts. The musical is set to receive a world premiere at the Becket Arts Center on Saturday, March 8th at 2 p.m.

The staged reading is on Saturday, October 26th at 2 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Pittsfield, located at 175 Wendell Avenue in Pittsfield. Guests are encouraged to attend in costume. Tickets and more information can be found online.

Adams Theater presents the ‘Road To Memphis Benefit Concert’ with the Diego Mongue Band

Adams— On Saturday, October 26th from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., the Adams Theater presents the “Road To Memphis Benefit Concert” with the Diego Mongue Band. 

The Diego Mongue Band recently won the Capital Region Blues Network Northeast Blues Challenge. winning this talented group of musicians an opportunity to compete in the International Blues challenge in January in Memphis. This concert is to help them raise funds to cover their travel expenses. Come out and support these Berkshire County based musicians as they make a mark on the blues world.

Berkshire Museum to host an ‘Aquarium Bon Voyage Celebration’

Pittsfield— On Thursday, October 24th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., come say “Bon Voyage” to the Berkshire Museum Aquarium before its major renovation. 

In its current location since 1986, the Berkshire Museum Aquarium has delighted the region with its array of fish, reptiles, and amphibians. The new aquarium will move to the first floor, doubling in size and tripling in volume. Before the current aquarium is closed, the public is invited to see the museum’s beloved animals in a rare after-hours showing. There will be fish-themed food, craft tables, live animal demonstrations, a memory wall, and sneak peeks at the incredible new aquarium, opening in 2025.

Berkshire County Historical Society presents forest bathing at Arrowhead

Pittsfield— On Saturday, October 26th at 11 a.m., Berkshire County Historical Society presents forest bathing at Arrowhead.

Start your weekend with a guided, gentle stroll on the peaceful nature trail at Arrowhead with licensed leader Kathleen Schoenberg. Forest bathing can elevate your mood, reduce stress, and improve your health. The walk will be less than a mile and includes several breaks for meditation and mindful activities.

The event is on Saturday, October 26th at 11 a.m. at Herman Melville’s Arrowhead, located at 780 Holmes Road in Pittsfield. Tickets and more information can be found online.

BFAIR celebrates 30 years with a 90’s throwback event

North Adams— On Friday, October 25th at 5:30 p.m., BFAIR celebrates 30 years of success with a celebration at the Williams Inn, a fundraiser that will include a VIP hour, live auction, 90’s theme music, and great food.

Berkshire Museum presents ‘Big Bubble Bonanza’ with Jeff Boyer

Pittsfield— On Saturday, October 26th at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., Berkshire Museum presents “Big Bubble Bonanza” with Jeff Boyer.

See the newest, funniest, zany spectacular from world-famous Guinness Book of World Records-holding master bubble wrangler Jeff Boyer as he takes bubbles to the max with big bubble flair. Mixing comedy, music, and interactive bubble magic, Boyer engages and delights audiences of all ages. It’s a bubble extravaganza for the whole family!

Berkshire Film and Media Collective presents production assistant workshop at Berkshire Community College

Pittsfield— On Saturday, October 26th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Berkshire Film and Media Collective (BFMC) presents a production assistant workshop.

BFMC’s workshop will introduce you to the fundamental skills you need to be a Production Assistant (PA) on a film or television set. Workshop participants will engage with real-world scenarios and industry-standard practices covering everything from set preparation and craft service to roles and responsibilities and equipment management.

The workshop will be led by Berkshire native Jake Diamond, who started as a Production Assistant six years ago and has worked his way up to be a first and second assistant director for film, television, and music videos. Jake will personally guide attendees through the essential tasks and nuances of the PA role. “In this workshop, I aim to share not just the technical skills but also the invaluable insights and etiquette necessary to thrive in any production environment,” says Jake, who’s worked on projects for brands like Verizon, HBO, and Timberland, as well as several independent feature films.
