Bits & Bytes: Berkshire Grown Harvest Supper; Diana Felber Gallery fall exhibition; Tannery Pond concert; ‘Creating the Constitution;’ stone wall walk

Berkshire Grown to present annual Harvest Supper

Great Barrington — Berkshire Grown will present its 18th annual Harvest Supper on Monday, Sept. 19, from 6 – 8 p.m. at Ski Butternut.

More than two dozen Berkshire Grown member chefs and local beverage producers will be on hand with a wide selection of tastings, all featuring fresh ingredients from local farms. The evening will also include a silent auction. At this year’s event, Berkshire Grown will welcome chefs from Allium Restaurant + Bar, Baba Louie’s, Berkshire Co-op Market, CafeADAM, Canyon Ranch, Castle Street Café, Firefly Gastropub and Catering, Gala Restaurant and Bar, Guido’s Fresh Marketplace, Haven Café and Bakery, Hotchkiss School, John Andrews: A Farmhouse Restaurant, Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health, the Meat Market, Mezze Bistro + Bar, nAtURAlly Catering + Takeout, the Old Inn on the Green, Prairie Whale, the Red Lion Inn, 20 Railroad Public House, Wheatleigh, and Williams College. Complimentary drinks will be provided by Barrington Brewery, Berkshire Mountain Distillers, Big Elm Brewing, M.S. Walker Wines and No. Six Depot Roastery and Café.

West Stockbridge — The Diana Felber Gallery presents its fall exhibition through Monday, Oct. 31. The exhibition features work from Robin Crofut-Brittingham and Larry Zingale, abstract paintings by Martina Muller, landscapes by Joan Marie Barber and Will B. Sillin, and lily pad images by Birgit Blyth. Season-ending concert at Tannery Pond

New Lebanon, N.Y. — On Saturday, Sept. 17, at 6 p.m., Tannery Pond Concerts will present the final concert of its 2016 season at Darrow School. The concert will feature violinist Axel Strauss, pianist Ilya Poletaev, and cellist Yegor Dyachkov. The program will include the Beethoven Piano Trio Op. 70, No. 2 in E-flat major; the Fauré Trio Op. 120; and the Taneyev Trio Op. 22. Tickets are $30 and $39. ‘Creating the Constitution’ at Williams College

Williamstown — Wayne Hammond, librarian of the Chapin Library at Williams College, will give a 30-minute presentation titled “Creating the Constitution,” about the U.S. Constitution and other founding documents of the United States in honor of Constitution Day on Friday, Sept. 16, at 4 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Pocket-sized copies of the U.S. Constitution will be available (quantities are limited).

Hammond will give his talk in the Chapin Gallery in the presence of original printings of the U.S. Constitution. The Chapin Library has an original printing of the Declaration of Independence, the Articles of Confederation, the U.S. Constitution (a draft printing from the Constitutional Convention), two versions of the first amendments to the Constitution, and George Washington’s copy of the Federalist Papers.

‘Centuries of Stone Walls’ walk

Monterey — On Saturday, Sept. 17, at 10 a.m. the Bidwell House Museum will offer “Centuries of Stone Walls,” a free guided walk exploring the stone walls built by settlers on the Museum’s land. Bidwell House Museum President Rob Hoogs will lead the group on old roadways, visualizing the landscape that resulted from settlement and farming activities in the 18th and 19th centuries. The walk will pass the site of the first meetinghouse as well as cellar holes of long-ago homesteads.

Participants are asked to dress for the weather, wear hiking boots/sturdy footwear, and to bring a drink/snack. The walk is about two miles and should last two hours. For more information, contact the Museum at (413) 528-6888.
