Bennington Museum’s Tattoo Living Exhibition
Bennington, V.T.— On Friday, April 19th from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., discover the artistry of tattoos at Bennington Museum’s 4th annual live art event.

Marvel at live models as living pieces of art while exploring the meanings and stories behind their body art. Tattoo studios will show off their work with demonstrations and flash ink opportunities. Enjoy a fun and lively atmosphere with a 50/50 raffle, the capital district’s DJ Waddell, and national touring magician, Alyx Hilshey.
The event is on Friday, April 19th from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Bennington Museum on Main Street in Bennington. Tickets are $10 at the door and free for members and youth ages 17 and under. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. More information can be found online.

Race Brook Lodge presents Club d’Elf
Sheffield— On Friday, April 19th from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., Race Brook Lodge presents Club d’Elf.
Club d’Elf has been helping audiences lose track of time for twenty five years with its mesmerizing synthesis of Moroccan traditional music and electronic, dubbed-out funk. With trance at the core, the band’s music draws from a startlingly wide spectrum of styles, including jazz, hip hop, electronica, avant garde, prog-rock, and dub.

The concert is on Friday, April 19th from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. in the Barnspace at Race Brook Lodge on South Undermountain Road in Sheffield. Tickets are $20 to $25 in advance and $35 at the door. Tickets and more information can be found online.

Images Cinema’s inaugural Earth Week film festival
Williamstown— From April 19th through the 15th, Images Cinema presents their inaugural Earth Week Film Festival.
An expansion upon the long-standing Fresh Fest: A Food and Farming Film Festival, which usually ran one weekend, the Earth Week Film Festival will run a full week and engage in a variety of topics that range from regenerative agriculture, the plastic pollution, and metal extraction from the ocean floor. The festival includes 10 films, 13 screenings, seven with discussions with experts in their field, local farmers, activists, and more.
Dan Hudson, Executive Director of Images Cinema, emphasizes the festival’s alignment with Images’ values, “Our Earth Week Film Festival is an outgrowth of our passion to save the planet. Not only do we have a concessions stand that features many local and regional producers, with 99% of our materials free from single-use plastics, we have been sending our uneaten popcorn to the pigs at Cricket Creek Farm for nearly 20 years. We also have plans to further reduce our carbon footprint.”

At Images Cinema’s Earth Week Film Festival, film becomes a catalyst for change, conversation, and community, facing the urgency of our environmental challenges and fostering a vibrant, inclusive community space for all.

The Queer Book Club at Simon’s Rock presents a book signing and pool party with Schuyler Bailar
Great Barrington— On Friday, April 19th from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., the Queer Book Club at Simon’s Rock presents a book signing and pool party with Schuyler Bailar.
Schuyler Bailar, trans activist and author of “He/She/They” and “Obie is Man Enough” will be signing books and joining us for a pool party with rafts, noodles, water polo, and friendly races. The pool will be open during the signing and refreshments will be served.

The event is on Friday, April 19th from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Kilpatrick Athletic Center at Simon’s Rock on Alford Road in Great Barrington. All LGBTQ+ affirming folks are encouraged to attend. More information can be found online.

MountainOne to host Mo the Spokesgoat book reading at North Adams Public Library
North Adams— On Friday, April 19th from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., MountainOne is excited to present the first public reading of its new storybook, “How to Climb a Mountain” at the North Adams Public Library.
The charming book follows the beloved MountainOne Spokesgoat as he takes his young audience on a journey that emphasizes the importance of being prepared for the unexpected and facing fears to reach goals. Bring the whole family for story time, engaging activities, and a special appearance by Mo himself!

“How to Climb a Mountain” is the first in a series of books for children featuring Mo, the MountainOne Spokesgoat. The 24-page illustrated book seeks to promote positive life lessons, literacy, and financial education for MountainOne’s youngest customers.

Lola Greene legacy scholarship
Berkshire— Applications are now being accepted for the Lola Greene Legacy Scholarship. A one-time grant of $250-$500 will be awarded to a graduating high school senior from a Berkshire school who is planning to continue to study Latin and/or the Classics in college. The scholarship will be awarded based on scholastic achievement with emphasis on Latin study and related activities, future plans to continue Latin and Classics studies, and demonstrated leadership and good moral character.
Lola Greene taught Latin at Mt. Greylock Regional High School from 1984 through 2000. During this time she developed the school’s Latin program and Junior Classical League into one of the most successful programs in the state. She instituted toga and catapult contests, won numerous teaching awards, and has a place in the school Hall of Fame. Lola lived a life filled with integrity, compassion, and love for all those around her. She was a dynamic and dedicated educator who inspired her students to achieve to the best of their abilities.
