Bits & Bytes: St.James Place/Taconic Ave. detour

Because of drainage work and water main relocation, all traffic using St. James Place/Taconic Avenue will be detoured to South Street.

Great Barrington –Those seeking to reach downtown via Alford Road and Taconic Avenue or headed in the opposite direction toward Fairview Hospital or Bard College at Simon’s Rock will find themselves detoured around the intersection of St. James Place and South Main Street.

Town Planner Christopher Rembold and the Southern Berkshire Chamber of Commerce issued a construction alert, as part of their weekly Main Street Reconstruction Update (see Southern Berkshire Construction logo on The Edge homepage), warning that because of drainage work and water main relocation, all traffic using St. James Place/Taconic Avenue would be detoured to South Street.
