‘Stand by You’ theme of Fairview Hospital’s virtual gala
Great Barrington — Fairview Hospital has turned its annual gala into an online event, which will be held Saturday, Aug. 29, at 7:30 p.m. This year’s theme is “Stand by You.”
The gala will feature Fairview physicians, nurses, patients and community members giving insight about how the hospital has served through the COVID-19 pandemic. To support and accompany this year’s theme, Emmy Award-winning performer Rachel Platten will perform her hit song “Stand By You” from her home in Santa Monica, California. She has offered her support in appreciation of the care Fairview Hospital has provided to her parents-in-law, Great Barrington residents David and Judi Lazan. Mentalist and “America’s Got Talent” finalist Oz Pearlman will also give an online performance, and Gov. Charlie Baker will make an appearance to honor health care workers who serve the community. Rep William “Smitty” Pignatelli, D-Lenox, will host the event.
The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required. The gala is the hospital’s largest annual benefit and donations are encouraged to support the purchase of a diagnostic cardiac technology. For more information or to register or make a donation, see the Berkshire Edge calendar, or contact Fairview Hospital’s community relations and development office at (413) 854-9609 or cmcdermott@bhs1.org.
