Kaatsbaan Cultural Park presents ‘Clouds from a Crumbling Giant,’ a preview of a by inkBoat
Tivoli, N.Y.— On Thursday, November 13th at 6 p.m., Kaatsbaan Cultural Park presents ‘Clouds from a Crumbling Giant,’ a preview of a by inkBoat, a physical theatre and dance company founded by Shinichi Iova-Koga in 1998.
This choreographic project combines traditional practices of Daoist Internal Arts with inkBoat’s performance-devising practices, rooted in the Japanese avant-garde, delving into the nature and quality of a body nearing the end of its run, and speculating on the afterlife and the tenderness of recognizing fellow travelers. Shinichi Iova-Koga directs this work in collaboration with inkBoat, Jubilith Moore, Dana Iova-Koga, Dan Cantrell, Ellen Sebastian Chang, and Hudson Valley residents, playfully touching on the nature of being and non-being.

Berkshire International Film Festival presents a screening of ‘SLAY’ at The Triplex
Great Barrington— On Tuesday, November 11th at 3 p.m., Berkshire International Film Festival presents a screening of “SLAY” at The Triplex.

From the makers of award-winning films “Cowspiracy” and “What The Health,” “SLAY” follows filmmaker Rebecca Cappelli’s journey around the world to uncover the dark side of the fashion industry. Cappelli’s investigation into the animal skins trade unravels a harrowing story of greenwashing, mislabeling, animal cruelty, and cover-ups from some of the world’s major luxury fashion brands. “SLAY” provides an in-depth and eye-opening look into the realities of today’s fashion industry while pointing the way towards viable and sustainable alternatives. The screening is on Tuesday, November 11th at 3 p.m. at The Triplex, located at 70 Railroad Street in Great Barrington. A Q&A with environmental designer, educator, author and entrepreneur Joshua Katcher and BIFF board member and programmer Lillian Lennox will follow. Berkshire County Historical Society presents a screening of ‘Sea Beast’ at the Beacon Cinema
Pittsfield— On Wednesday, November 12th at 7 p.m., Berkshire County Historical Society presents a screening of “Sea Beast” at the Beacon Cinema.

Directed by Millard Webb, the iconic 1926 silent classic film stars John Barrymore and Dolores Costello. It was a major commercial success and was Warner Bros. highest grossing film, though it takes some liberties with Melville’s source material.

Samuel Harrison Society, Sheffield Historical Society, and Housatonic Heritage present ‘Saying Their Names: Berkshire County’s Black Patriots and the Legacy of Samuel Harrison and the 54th Massachusetts Regiment’
Sheffield— On Tuesday, November 11th from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., the Samuel Harrison Society, the Sheffield Historical Society, and Housatonic Heritage present “Saying Their Names: Berkshire County’s Black Patriots and the Legacy of Samuel Harrison and the 54th Massachusetts Regiment” co-hosted by Dr. Frances Jones-Sneed, Jocelyn Jones Arnold, and Colonel Patricia K. Wright with special guest Blayne Whitfield, the great-great-grandson of Reverend Samuel Harrison.

Marking 160 years since the end of the Civil War, this afternoon of reflection and remembrance will honor the courage, service, and sacrifice of Berkshire County’s Black patriots—from the Revolutionary War through the Civil War.

Pittsfield— On Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 1:30 p.m., Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) presents an afternoon with Neal Pilson, one of the most influential figures in the history of televised sports.

Neal Pilson has been a major figure in television sports for close to 50 years and in 2018 was elected to the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame. He will share behind-the-scenes stories from his work with the NFL, NCAA Basketball Tournament, NBA, Major League Baseball, the Olympics, NASCAR, The Masters, PGA Golf, and U.S. Open Tennis. His talk will also highlight the incredible growth of women’s sports, how decisions are made about which games to air and which personalities to hire, and what really drives the billion-dollar business of televised sports.
