The show features about 300 photos from R. M. Hungate’s five photography expeditions to Churchill Manitoba, which is is located on the edge of the Arctic Tundra and considered as the polar bear capital of the world.

Housatonic— Through December 31st, the Center for Peace through Culture presents a digital photography exhibit of R. M. Hungate’s photography from his expeditions to Churchill Manitoba. 

The show features about 300 photos from R. M. Hungate’s five photography expeditions to Churchill Manitoba, which is is located on the edge of the Arctic Tundra and considered as the polar bear capital of the world. He previously showed a smaller number of photos of the bears, foxes, and tundra in the center’s small gallery space.

While the gallery is closed for the season, the digital show is shown on a loop and can be viewed all night, every night from the sidewalk. For an immersive experience. Hungate’s personal recommendation is to visit while it’s snowing. He advises, “Dress warmly. Think Arctic.”

The exhibit is on view through December 31st at the Center for Peace through Culture, located at 137 Front Street in Housatonic. It is free to view.

Berkshire Bach Society presents ‘Bach at New Year’s: The Six Brandenburg Concertos’ at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center

Great Barrington— On Wednesday, December 31st at 6 p.m., Berkshire Bach Society presents “Bach at New Year’s: The Six Brandenburg Concertos” at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center. 

Led by nine-time Grammy Award-winner and Artistic Director Eugene Drucker, the event has been a holiday tradition since 1993. This year’s presentation is dedicated in memoriam to the society’s longtime chairman, Adrian van Zon, who did more than anyone to secure the concert series as a core Berkshires tradition since 1993. Come for the joy and celebrate his legacy. This evening of great music and dazzling performances is sure to start your New Year on a high note!

Berkshire Theatre Group presents New Year’s Eve with Max Creek at The Colonial Theatre

Pittsfield— On Wednesday, December 31st from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., Berkshire Theatre Group presents New Year’s Eve with Max Creek at The Colonial Theatre.

New Year’s Eve at The Red Lion Inn

Stockbridge— On Wednesday, December 31st from 6 p.m. to midnight, ring in the New Year in timeless Red Lion Inn style

Dress in your finest attire and get ready for a night of enchantment and magic, including live music, a vintage-style photo booth, Benjamin Levy’s New Year’s Eve Magic Show, a complimentary Prosecco toast, and a culinary journey featuring hors d’oeuvres, local cheese and charcuterie, and various food stations for a true cocktail-style affair.

Live music will be provided by jazz artist Todd Caldwell, widely recognized for his 15-year tenure as the keyboardist for Crosby, Stills & Nash. He is joined by Beth Callen, an acclaimed singer/songwriter and guitarist whose credits include Tony Award-winning Broadway productions. Together, they deliver a dynamic performance blending jazz precision with lyrical storytelling to kick off 2026 in style.

New Year’s Eve with Core Kitchen at Gateways Dine & Drink 

Lenox— On Wednesday, December 31st at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., as part of their winter residency, Ray Stalker and Sarita Orobio-Wolff of Core Kitchen will present two servings a special New Year’s Eve menu at Gateways Dine & Drink.

Set within the beautifully preserved historic Gateways Inn in the heart of Lenox, Gateways Dine & Drink offers an intimate, elevated dining experience that feels both refined and warmly inviting. The cozy dining room and bar provide a relaxed yet sophisticated backdrop for thoughtfully prepared, seasonal menus led by rotating Chefs-in-Residence.

Highlights of Core Kitchen’s special menu include: Cream of Chicken of the Woods Mushroom Soup, Beef Tartare, Steamed Egg Custard, Poached Cod Cheeks, Crusted Leg of Lamb, Chocolate Pâté, and a Thyme and Honey Pavlova finished with bergamot syrup, blood orange supremes, and a black tea cream.
