Making her Berkshire debut, Tammie Brown is the stage name of Keith Glen Schubert, an American singer, actor, and drag performer best known for appearance on “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars,” “America’s Got Talent,” “Skin Wars,” and many other TV shows. Tammie Brown brings her signature strangeness, sharp wit and out of this world charm to the stage. Expect the unexpected and prepare to be transported.

Art in the Berkshires and The Lenox Collection partner to showcase local artists in three historic inns
Lenox— Art in the Berkshires and The Lenox Collection announce a new partnership bringing rotating exhibitions of Berkshire-area artists into three of Lenox’s most distinctive historic inns: The Constance, The Whitlock, and The Dewey.

Each quarter, the inns will feature rotating exhibitions showcasing between six and 12 Berkshire-area artists, ensuring guests enjoy a fresh experience with every visit. Exhibitions will be complemented by artist discussions, offering deeper insight into the creative process, and all artwork will be available for purchase.
The partnership launches on Thursday, October 9th from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at The Constance, located at 11 Old Stockbridge Road in Lenox. The inaugural exhibition will feature a curated group of local artists working across a range of styles and mediums, from colorful contemporary paintings to traditional landscapes. Featured artists include Carolyn Abrams, Diane Firtell, Marion H Grant, Mollie Kellogg, Ilene Richard, and Shany Porras. It is open to the public and admission is free. Becket Arts Center presents ‘Moving Through Color,’ an exhibit of paintings and drawings by CATA artists
Becket— On Thursday, October 9th from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Becket Arts Center presents a free opening reception for “Moving Through Color,” an exhibit of paintings and drawings by CATA artists
The vibrant works on display were created by teens, adults, and elders with disabilities in workshops provided by Community Access to the Arts (CATA.) All the pictures in the exhibit are available for sale, with proceeds supporting commissions for the individual artists.

Yiddish Book Center presents ‘Jewish Poland Today: On Page and Screen,’ with acclaimed Polish Jewish author Mikołaj Grynberg
Amherst— On Thursday, October 9th at 7 p.m., the Yiddish Book Center presents “Jewish Poland Today: On Page and Screen,” with acclaimed Polish Jewish author Mikołaj Grynberg.

Grynberg will be joined by his translator, Sean Gasper Bye, for a wide-ranging conversation about Jewish life in Poland today, the legacy of memory, and how the past and present continue to shape one another. The discussion will highlight Grynberg’s internationally acclaimed books, including “I’d Like to Say Sorry, but There’s No One to Say Sorry To” and “Confidential.” He made his directorial debut in 2021 with “Proof of Identity,” a film produced POLIN: the Museum of the History of Polish Jews.
“Poland holds a special place in Jewish history, but Grynberg’s works ask: what does Jewish life in Poland look like now?” said Rebecka McDougall, director of communication and marketing for the Yiddish Book Center. “This program offers our community the chance to hear directly from one of the most important voices in contemporary Polish Jewish culture.”

Sean Gasper Bye’s translations have won the EBRD Literary Prize and the Asymptote Close Approximations Prize; and been shortlisted for the Warwick Prize for Women in Translation, a National Jewish Book Award, the Sami Rohr Prize and the National Translation Award.
