Bina M. Armstrong, 95, of Lenox died peacefully on Sunday, October 8, after the last few months of declining health.

She was born on May 25, 1928 to the late Martin and Margaret Shiel Murray in Loughrea, County Galway, Ireland, where she attended school. After coming to the United States in her early 20s, Bina worked as a domestic housekeeper for the Kitteridge and Crane families in Dalton, and then later worked as a sewer for Eaton Paper Company, where she stayed for most of her working career. But Bina was always most proud of her roles as mother, wife, and grandmother to her three
grandchildren.

Bina M. Armstrong.

Bina married the love of her life, Llewellyn Armstrong, in 1955 in St. Mary’s Church in Pittsfield. He predeceased her in 1999. Together they spent 44 loving years building their family in Lenox.

Bina was a communicant of St. Ann’s Church. She loved her family, her church, and her friends. She enjoyed gardening and took great pride throughout her life in her flowers. She also loved the Boston Red Sox—and in particular, Big Papi.

Bina is survived by her son Kevin Armstrong and his wife Ginger of West Stockbridge; three grandchildren, Shannon Armstrong of Maine, Jesse Armstrong of Pittsfield, and Sarah Armstrong of New York; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband and parents, Bina is predeceased by her daughter Sandra Armstrong in 1977, and her siblings, Mary Kennedy, John Murray, Joseph Murray, Sally Ballard, and Peggy McTaggert.
