Bernice M. Olsen, 92, of South Main Street in Great Barrington, died Sunday February 12, 2017 at Fairview Hospital. She was born in Great Barrington on May 6, 1924 daughter to Joseph and Violet (Arienti) Barry. Bernice was a graduate of the former Searles High School class of 1942. Bernice was a lifelong resident of Great Barrington and worked at Pioneer Credit Corp. until it closed in 1977 and then at the Mason Library from 1982 until she retired in 1997. Bernice’s husband Allen Olsen, whom she married on November 11, 1945, predeceased her in 1976. Bernice is survived by friends. In addition to her husband Allen, Bernice was predeceased by her daughter, Joan Olsen Digregorio.
Funeral services for Bernice M. Olsen will be held on Friday February 17 at 10 a.m. with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Peter’s Church in Great Barrington with Reverend William P. Murphy Pastor officiating. Burial will follow at Sheffield Center Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
