Berkshire Hills Regional School District School Committee honors four Monument Mountain students

The Berkshire Hills Regional School Committee congratulates these four exemplary student leaders.

Berkshire Hills Regional School District — At its October 23 meeting, the Berkshire Hills Regional School District School Committee recognized four Monument Mountain Regional High School seniors with awards.

Sadie Honig-Briggs won the Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents Award. She was recognized for her creative talents in music and drama and writing and for her boundless curiosity. Sadie is interested in studying creative writing and journalism, among other things, next year in college.

Reese Duchesne and Mirabelle Meyers both won the National School Development Council Award for Academic Growth and Student Leadership in Learning Award.

Reese was recognized as student lead on Project Sprout and the school’s composting efforts, as well as a facilitator for restorative justice. Her academic interests include environmental sciences, geosciences, biology, and agriculture.

Mirabelle, who represents the school at School Committee meetings, was cited for her professionalism and extensive community involvement. She is an Alpine Level I Certified Ski Instructor at Ski Butternut and has interned at Fairview Hospital and volunteered at Volunteers in Medicine. After graduation, she will be studying biochemistry and economics.

Tyler Campbell, also a student representative at School Committee meetings, received the Daughters of the American Revolution Award, honoring good citizenship leadership, dependability, and patriotism. He was recognized for charisma, thoughtfulness, and generosity and for his leadership as team manager for Varsity Basketball, and on the Unified Basketball team. At Monument, he studied early childhood education and will continue on an education track study after high school.
