Beatrice Zamperini, 84, formerly of Sheffield

Beatrice Zamperini, 84, formerly of Sheffield, died Friday, April 14, 2023 at Geer Village in Canaan, Conn. Beatrice was born on October 21, 1938 in Windsor Vt., daughter of William and Elaine (Perry) Swan. Beatrice was a graduate of Mount Everett High School in the class of 1956.

Her husband, Antonio (Frank) Zamperini, whom she married on October 27, 1956 at Our Lady of the Valley in Sheffield, predeceased her on March 22, 2008. Beatrice is survived by two daughters, Deborah Hewins of Bolivia, N.C. and Teresa Zamperini (Geoff) of Salem, S.C., and her and granddaughter, Rebecca Hewins of Sheffield. In Addition to her husband, Beatrice was predeceased by her sister, Margaret Francis, and her grandson, Dustin Hewins.

Bea, as she was known by everyone, enjoyed many social events with her friends and family. She was an avid animal lover, NASCAR enthusiast, and member of the Red Hats, among many other interests. She was well known for her hard work running a successful business (Frank’s Pool Service) with her husband Frank for many years. Bea very proud of the life she had with her family in her beloved town of Sheffield.

In keeping with Beatrice’s wishes, all services are private. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Beatrice’s memory may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of Birches-Roy Funeral Home, 33 South St., Great Barrington. Condolences may be made through the funeral home’s website.

Funeral Mass for Robert F. "Bob" Keefner will be held on Friday, May 23, at 10 a.m., with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at Saint Peter’s Church in Great Barrington with Reverend William P. Murphy Pastor officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
