Barrington Stage Company raises $445K at A Night At The Kit Kat Club, including $201K for BSC’s Education Fund

BSC’s 2023 Gala transported guests to the Kit Kat Club at The Stationery Factory in Dalton for an incredible one-night-only cabaret hosted by out-of-this-world sensation Taylor Mac.

Pittsfield — Barrington Stage Company (BSC) announces that Gala 2023: A Night at the Kit Kat Club, honoring Patron of the Arts and BSC Board Member Rhoda Levitt, raised $445,000, including $201,000 for BSC’s Education Fund, most notably, the award-winning, life-affirming educational program for Berkshire youth, the Playwright Mentoring Project.

BSC’s 2023 Gala transported guests to the Kit Kat Club at The Stationery Factory in Dalton for an incredible one-night-only cabaret hosted by out-of-this-world sensation Taylor Mac. Board President Marita Glodt introduced the new leadership team of Artistic Director Alan Paul and Managing Director Meredith Lynsey Schade. Founding Artistic Director Julianne Boyd and Associate Artist Mark H. Dold honored Patron of the Arts Rhoda Levitt with a citation from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Over 350 attendees enjoyed a risque burlesque show by Gypsy Layne Cabaret; an open bar and four-course dinner provided by caterer Tom Ellis’s The Swell Party; a dance party, where Brownskin Band raised the roof; and performances by Associate Artist Alan H. Green, Rafael Duran, Cabaret’s James Rose, and the cast of A New Brain.

Among the guests were State Representative Paul Mark (D – 2nd Berkshire District), District Attorney Timothy Shugrue, State Representative Lindsay N. Sabadosa (D – 1st Hampshire District), Former Pittsfield Mayor James Ruberto, Hotel on North’s David Tierney, BSC Board Members and Board Emeritus, Broadway’s Jason Danieley, Christopher Innvar, Mary Testa, and writer/director Daniel Goldstein.

Notable Berkshire Cultural Leaders present were Shakespeare and Company Artistic Director Allyn Burrows, Kristy Edmunds of Mass MoCA, Margaret Keller of Community Access to the Arts, Molly Merihew of WAM, Berkshire Theatre Group Artistic Director Kate Maguire, Pamela Tatge of Jacob’s Pillow, Thaddeus Thompson of Berkshire Botanical Garden, and Kim Bush Tomio of Berkshire Museum.

A Night at the Kit Kat Club was sponsored by Carole and Dan Burack and Violet and Chris Eagan. The Gala was chaired by Violet Eagan, with Nicole Deller, Caroline Holland, and Laurie Schwartz as co-chairs.

Gala 2023 sponsors include Berkshire Mountain Distillers, Chocolate Springs, Classical Tents, Event Illuminations, Nejaime’s Wine Cellars, Rose Brand, SoCo Creamery, The Stationery Factory, and Township Four.
