Barbara Lee Snyder, 79, of Great Barrington

A private funeral for the immediate family will take place on Saturday, November 12, 2022. Following the funeral, the family encourages all to join in the celebration of Barbara’s life at the Great Barrington VFW after 12:30 p.m.

Barbara Lee Snyder, 79, of Great Barrington passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2022. Barbara was born in Pittsfield on August 22, 1943. She was the daughter of John and Angelina Metallo and graduated from Searles High School in Great Barrington in 1961.

Barbara was an educator, wife, mother, sister, nana, and more. She had a passion for educating and spent 22 years teaching special education at Bryant School in Great Barrington. Her students meant the world to her. She spent her early years participating in golf and bowling leagues.

Anyone who was lucky enough to know Barbara knew just how much she loves her family. She leaves behind her husband of 59 years, John Snyder, 82, of Great Barrington; her sister, Linda Pruhenski and husband Ed, her sons, John Snyder Jr. and wife Joely, Joe Snyder and wife Nicole, and Jeff Snyder and wife Elizabeth; and her grandchildren, Skylar, Autumn, Caitlyn, Giada, Parker, and Ricky.

A private funeral for the immediate family will take place on Saturday, November 12, 2022.
