Barbara Jean (Sinico) Gage, 62, of Pittsfield

Barbara was an avid New York Yankees fan, loved gardening and her lawn, and bowling at the Cove.

Barbara Jean (Sinico) Gage, 62, of Pittsfield died Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family. Barbara was born in Great Barrington on July 18, 1953 daughter to Louis W., Sr. and Betty A. (Race) Sinico. Barbara was a graduate of the Monument Mountain Regional High School class of 1972.

She worked for many years as a cashier for Price Chopper in both Great Barrington and Lenox. Barbara was an avid New York Yankees fan, loved gardening and her lawn, bowling at the Cove, spending time with her twin granddaughters, Gianna and Lily, and grandson, Lucas, and she loved spending time with her dog Dusty.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Dan Gage, of Pittsfield who she married on July 26, 1997; her father, Louis W. Sinico, Sr. and his wife, Rita, of Great Barrington; her son, Rob Carter, and his wife, Amy, of Pittsfield; one sister, Ann M. Barscz, and her husband, Bill; of Great Barrington; and three grandchildren – Gianna, Lily. and Lucas. Barbara was predeceased by her mother, Betty A. (Race) Sinico; one sister, Deborah A. Sinico; and one brother, Louis W. Sinico, Jr. The family would like to give a special thank you to her niece, Shannon Sinico, for providing care to her in the final weeks.

Funeral services for Barbara Jean (Sinico) Gage will be held on Saturday March 26, at 12 p.m. in the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME, 33 South St., Great Barrington, Mass., 01230, with the Reverend William P. Murphy, pastor, officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday prior to the funeral service from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Barbara’s memory may be made to the National Brain Tumor Society in care of the funeral home at 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230.
