Boston — Gov. Charlie Baker announced Tuesday the extension of the state’s stay-at-home advisory and the closure of all nonessential businesses to Monday, May 18, as the battle against the coronavirus continues in Massachusetts.

“We’re moving in the right direction with respect to the virus, but we are not where we need to be,” Baker said during a press conference announcing the extension of the essential services emergency order, which had been set to expire Monday, May 4.
