Tom Cathcart
Tom Cathcart has had what he calls a checkered career, including stints as a probation officer, a junior college teacher, a Blue Cross exec, and a hospital administrator. After retiring, he teamed up with his dearest friend, Danny Klein, to write “Plato and a Platypus Walk into a Bar: Understanding Philosophy Through Jokes,” which to their amazement (and with what they concede was considerable dumb luck), ended up at #3 on the New York Times bestseller list. Several books—mostly with Danny, a few solo—followed.
