Matt Tannenbaum is the long time and well-known proprietor of The Bookstore in Lenox. He is the subject of the 2022 documentary “Hello, Bookstore”, produced and directed by first-time filmmaker Adam Zax, which has won glowing review world-wide, from the UK Guardian to Variety and the New York Times.
He has written one book, a memoir, “My Years at The Gotham BookMart” and is a regular radio guest on the Book Picks segment of WAMC’s Round Table. He has been on TV only once (NBC morning cable show) but used to be seen twice a year on the Riggs 37 Stage in Stockbridge.
Alas, those years, like his youth, are gone too soon. Matt is one of the ‘Five Wise Guys’ on Sam Bittman’s Third Act Project website.
