Karen Shreefter, who heads Karen Shreefter Landscape design of Monterey, Mass., has been a designer for two decades. Beginning with graphic design, she expanded into landscape design after obtaining a horticultural certificate from MCLA and then a landscape design certificate from the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies, which at the time was associated with the New York Botanical Garden in New York City. Additionally, she studied at The Research Center for Japanese Garden Art & Historical Heritage in Kyoto, Japan.
