Dan Tawczynski was born right here in Great Barrington and today lives in the family home where he grew up. He has been a farmer all his life, retired now from Taft Farms which he ran with his wife (Martha) and family for almost sixty years (now run by his son, Paul). He has a B.A. from Boston College and taught school in Pittsfield for several years.
He has been writing (mostly short stories about farm life) for at least forty years without ever attempting to publish. Dan Klein and others persuaded him to try and the first result was “Green”, a collection first published in 2020. He hopes another collection will come out later this year along with his first attempt at a larger work of fiction.
