Diane Karnett
Diane Karnett loves to tell stories . She moved to Great Barrington from the Upper West Side of Manhattan 4 years ago in order to lead a more creative and meaningful life. In New York she produced “To Brother With Love,” a one-hour medical documentary about a sister who donated half of her liver to her brother. The movie was aired on Discovery Channel and National Geographic. She got hooked on writing 15 years ago when she took a humor writing class in Soho and, for her “final” assignment, got to perform her story at CBGB’s, the East Village rock and punk music club. In Paris, where she lived for 4 years, she produced interactive information and entertainment programs for a US-Franco co-venture. Since moving to the Berkshires, she studies memoir writing and volunteers her filmmaking and storytelling experience to CTCB (Community Television for the Southern Berkshires) where she co-produces, directs and shoots programs. She is a member of BIO (Berkshire Interfaith Organizing) and is active In promoting and protecting the rights of our local immigrants.
